Rattle

My '05 RL has a rattle located on the driver's side in the area of the ventilation outlet since purchase. Four trips to the dealer as well as contacting Acura customer service have failed to fix it. Anyone with similar experiences or who knows a fix?

BTW - Also needed to replace the back seat cupholder (defective), radio buttons on steering wheel (defective), and back seat roof light failed.

When driving have you been able to push any specific part of the dash or ventilation outlet - that then causes it to stop rattling? Play around with it to find the exact location of the rattle then let us know what you come up with.

Have you tried a different dealer? I know some dealers are better at this than others (Ask the guys over at the TL forum, the 04s were big rattle making cars - my 05 TL had a few rattles that I fixed because the dealer didnt want to even bother trying)

I have this EXACT same rattle. Quite annoying. I think there was a thread about here somewhere. Let us know if/what you find.

Thanks!

Same thing happened with our car too. I took a black golf tee and put it in where the a-pillar meets the dash. Rattle gone.

Appreciate the advice. However, I do not feel that I should be stuffing leather and golf tee's into the dash board of a new car that is under warranty to fix a manufacturing defect that the dealer has been given more than ample opportunities to correct.

Umm, OK . . . your first questions in this thread was, "Anyone with similar experiences or who knows a fix?"

I thought the link I referred answered those quite well.

In desperation, I placed the golf tee as you recommended and rattle is gone! Good call, only wish my service department did this months ago. Hope it lasts...
