Question on ownerlink or Acuralink?
Question on ownerlink or Acuralink?
Is there a way to connect the 06 RL with acura via your cell phone? I've had my card for a few months and remember something during the test drive.
There is some way to connect your bluetooth to Acura via the navigation and then you can get e-mails sent automatically on maintenance or something like that.
However, I've completely forgotten about it since I've owned the car.
Please help. Thanks.

I haven't done it as yet, but in reading about it in the manual there seem to be a couple of things to make sure you have.
One is a bluetooth phone that will play nice with the Acura. I like bluetooth, but it doesn't seem to be quite as "universal" as it needs to be. (ie still have some incompatibilities between devices)
The other is a cell phone capable (and activated of course) data communications. Sounds to me like the service is using the data side of the cell phone.
Once the pairing of the bluetooth and the setup of the data connection is complete, then you should be able to get info from Acura via the RL (my understanding).
Please take your manual as gospel, not me. <g>

Regardless of whether you use the bluetooth data feature, your car will still get emails and updates through the XM system... you can make a service appointment on acuralink, and it'll come up as a message on your nav system.
If you pair a bluetooth phone that has a working data connection AND it's compatible with that feature AND your phone is set up properly by your provider AND you get the correct init string in your car's system... you can get the benefit of having fault codes sent to Acura if there's a fault in the monitored systems.
It's of marginal benefit, because when you take it to the dealer to fix whatever is wrong, they're just going to plug a cable into the car and read the codes off anyway.
