Purchase '05RL or wait till '06RL ?
Newbie to the forum and this place rocks! Awesome information and everybody truly is an expert. Glad to be a part of the community.
I need a new car. I own 1993 Civic (still ticking with no issues, but some major maintenance is around the corner). I sold my 2001 BMW (too many shop visits). I researched all the new models and determined the RL is the one! Lexus, Infiniti, Audi, BMW just didn't do it for me. Acura/Honda is just in my blood, I guess...
With some of the quirks still being worked out, can I get some guidance from current '05 RL owners? Buy now (next few weeks) or wait it out till summertime/fall for the '06 ?
Prices looks attractive right now and the car is just awesome.
Thanks for the help.

StaticBob-
I think you will find a lot of people here with Acura/Honda in their blood.
I do not regret getting the first year on the RL. It has been trouble free as far as the big stuff goes. Probably will be even better for '06 though. Can't really go wrong I think.

static808,
If you buy the RL, you are buying it with the knowledge that there are a few quirks and a couple of problems hanging around, your expectations have been set. I bought it knowing that it was the first model year, but I also believe that Acura does not want to have this new model fail and so will focus as best they can to address any issues.
I think the speed that they got the update out shows their concern...unfortunately this may have also impacted the overall quality of the update because a couple of new problems seem to have arisen.
For me personally, I have been lucky not to have had any problems and I cannot find any quirk that really bugs me. I do appreciate the quality of the RL, the way it drives and the other highlights that others have posted on this and other forums. For me I'm still pleased I bought it when I did, and I definately still prefer it to all of the competition out there.
You have to think about how you will react to the problems and quirks. If they are likely to bug the hell out of you, I would wait. If you are easy going, then I would buy now
Just my $0.02

My RL has not had one problem since the moment I bought it in October of last year. A perfect car (so far, and IMHO, of course). It has tremendous crash ratings, so wait until next model year only if you have to. But, it's your decision to make in the end.
