Question Privat Zwanzig Wheel

I too have been looking for wheelz for my RL, but I may have some different requirementz in mind for my selection. My preference is to run the wheel/tire combination all year ... Even though I live in New England (where some winters can be harsh). With that as my prime objective, I've ruled out chrome wheelz ... They would take a beating with the salt.

I know some of you will scoff at this ... Suggesting I use the standard wheelz during the winter months. Unfortunately, my care giving situation affordz me little time to swap the wheelz ... Thus my previous car usually had the winter wheelz on all year.

With a painted wheel in mind, I've looked hi & lo for luxury options ... But pickingz are slim. Recently, I've been captivated by the Privat Zwanzig wheel (a luxury/sport division of Konig wheelz). When I first saw it, it was only OK ... But itz really grown on me. The local dealer and manufacturer are not certain if it will actually fit ... There is no data as of yet. The bolt pattern is correct (18" - 5x120) and the offset can be had in the +40 range.

Given this info, I'd like to solicit your opinions for my Celestial Silver/Ebony RL. I've mocked up a quick image of what it may appear like ... See what you think.

Looks perfect to me. If it fits and is reasonably priced then no reason not to do this wheel imho. What is cost and availabilty? Can you get it locally or via phone/internet only?

They look nice, but not in the photoshop. I think it matches the RL well.

Glad some of you folkz like these wheelz too.
Sorry the Photochop isn't a quality image.

As for availability, the Privat website listz several retail dealers:
http://www.privatwheels.com/html/dealers.html

I've had a local quote from Town Fair Tire for $1800 (complete).
This includes a set of Pirelli PZero Nero M&S tires (w/Road Hazard).
I'll need to supply the TPS ... But they will install (wreck) them at no cost.

Online, I've seen some individual prices range from $190-$270 a wheel.

I think a 5 star spoked rim or a split five spoke would look better.

I agree. While I am not opposed to these wheels (I have seen others which are just plain old ugly) - these are nice, I just think that a 5 spoke would look better.

Will the tyre pressure sensor work on them?

They simply replace the conventional valve stem (they secure themsleves to the inside of the wheel with simple hand tools)...so they should work fine.

At first, a 5 spoke was what I had in mind. I really liked the RonJon wheel ... But it would get killed during the winter months (see earlier explanation). Also, since I'm almost 50ish ... I wanted a luxury/sport wheel instead of an all out sport wheel. I have another sportz car ('66 Corvette) for that purpose.

mmmm mmmm mmmm. vette is awesome.

in that case, go for this wheel - assuming it clears the brembo style brakes and fits without problems. I am sure it will look classy on the rl.

Thanx for the nice comment on the Vette ... Itz a fun ride. Yeah, the brake clearance is my main concern. After the A-Spec suspension installation this week, I'll see if the local wheel shop will order one for a test fit.

I meant to put not

At any rate, please write a review letting us know how you like the a-spec suspension. I imagine it will make the car even more fun to drive - as did the TL's suspension upgrade.
