Pricing Help!!!!

I need some help guys, I found the LAST WHITE/EBONY CMBS RL, and this is the deal that they are giving me, but they are firm on it, is it good?

47500 plus 6 year 100,000 mile warranty plus wood wheel and wood shifter

any good or should I try to push a bit lower since I need to drive 400+ miles to get it.?

Thanks

I'd say thats about $2000 in added stuff between the warranty and the wood goodies, so that's like 45500 for the car + the add ons.

Would you be happier with a lower price but not having the elusive white/ebony combo? If having the color combo is important, I say go for it.

the issue is finding a car with CMBS, this is one of 5:
3 white, 2 ebony interior, 1 parchment
1 red/parchment
1 tan/parchment

Agree. Sounds like a halfway decent deal, especially if it's the color combo you want. I say go for it.

Hmm, with the PAX issue, I'd have to add in future cost of replacement wheels/tires/spare on an 08 CMBS RL.

(from your notes- looks like it's not techically the LAST white/ebony CMBS.)

Have you tried to negotiate at all? If you know this is the car you want, then take the drive and try to push em down a little, it's worth a shot. If you can't get them to budge when you are face to face, then at least you know you gave it your best.

I'd bet you can get them to toss in all weather floor mats, trunk tray and net, splash guards, and wheel locks.

That's after very little negotiation. The issue is there might be some warranty problems, Tim can't sell warranty policies in FL, and I doubt the dealer can get it to work in GA since the car is going to be registered in FL. Also, the car is GA, so I can't go face to face that easily, this is why I am looking for opinions.

I would go for below invoice only.. I got $3,500 (rebate) below invoice on my 07 rl tech/pax. Not sure about the extra warranty and they can throw in the wood stuff as an incentive for you to buy..

Well that's what I'm trying to do, 45,500 is 3K below invoice, but that's if they can get all the stuff done. My idea was that if they can't get the warranty, I can push them to give me a credit for the purchase price of the a-spec body kit and the labor to install it, and get it done here in FL when I feel like it, or get the mugen kit done. Like I said in the other thread, I took a look at an 09 and now i'm further inclined to wonder, if the 09 RL doesn't sell to well (at invoice), I should be able to score a better deal on that 08 White one.

imho I highly doubt the 09 is going to be this great seller, so if it were me, I would wait for the 09 to be discounted then buy it, cuz you'll have more value in the car because of the later model year. Also they will try to bs you on the demand because it is new, but all you have to do is watch this board for the monthly sales numbers and compare them to previous months. If they are the same or only slightly different then they are going to be pushing it the same as the 07 and 08's. Just tell them you are going to wait for the 09.. then see if the price is "fixed"...

This is so true. I have a new sales consultant who is tring to tell me that the new 09 is hot and is going to sell like crazy, hence the $987/month lease payment he quoted me. Maybe for the uninformed buyer!! I have read that some paid almost $1000/month in the first few months the 05 RL came out, but the 09 RL just isn't enough of a new car. I don't see strong sales for this "new" version. Getting back to the original thread, $3000 under invoice is obviously a very good deal. Could they go lower?? Probably if the $4000 dealer to cash is still available for the 08 model. Plus they probably have a 2% dealer holdback incentive they can fall back on. I doubt they would dip into that, it's their last chance at profit, and whether we like it or not the dealer and salespeople have to eat!!

Well, I talked to the guys at the dealership about the 08 and this is what I got:
5.19% for 60 months at around 870 a month with 4K down
5.9% for 72 months at around 770 a month with 4K down

Total out the door price 52,500

Includes:
Wood wheel
Wood shifter
Extended warranty 6 years 100K

But I went to courtsey acura here and test drove an 09 RL, I'll post a review of that in a bit, but I think spending around 4K on an 09 is worth it over an 08 RL....

Also here's the deals on the 09 RL

09 RL W/CMBS 55% residual, 4K down, full maintainance for free, protection package, mobile gaurdian, gap insurance, etc... either 869 a month for 36 months, 12K miles a year or 58 OTD also money factor of around 3%

I'm still stunned at the lease terms that are flying around here. Does Acura actually plan to sell these?

hopefully, I didn't like those lease terms, you end up paying over 8K over MSRP at the end of the deal.

CS,

be careful with Courtesy. I bought my 06 from them and ended up going with another dealer, Fountain, for better service, support and attention to detail. Just food for thought - unless you're planning on having it serviced closer to your neck of the woods.

Later,

Well, you see i'm kinda in a tough spot.... My uncle is the internet sales manager, my other one works there in sales, I have had both my MDX and TL serviced there and got my MDX fiasco handled there too. And as well, they have 1 of 2 CMBS RL's in florida... just my luck.

What's bugging me is that it's MSRP pricing and the dealer is making like 6K off the deal... and my uncles and friend (service) at the dealership told me "sorry, no less than MSRP, but we can throw in this stuff and that's it. I have gotten 2 Acura's from there, refered like 4 different people who got cars and service from them and this just makes me a bit mad. Oh well, it's a new model though...

Question of the day, should I wait a month to see if pricing will go down, and increase the possiblitily of loosing this car and wait about 3 months for a custom RL from japan after the pricing is good or buy ASAP? Also for those wondering, this is the deal with the other cars, I'm going to "give" the TL to the bro, and I'll see it everyday though, and most likley will take the RL a few days while I sleep...

when you pay a high premium for a vehicle, you will likely later regret getting it. Within 2 months you should be able to get the RL for 1k over invoice (or better) by December, I predict there will be 2k in dealer cash and at the right time you should be able to buy the car for 2k below in invoice. If you wait til May, you will likely have the opportunity to buy the car for 3.5 or 4k below invoice. What a swing from top to bottom of the pricing scale. If you are going to sell your car in great shape within a 5 year period, future resale should be a big factor in your analysis. Two years or less, the time to buy is when you can buy is when the dew is off the rose, at the end of July, or the end of August for 1k over invoice or better.

When you consider trade in or resale value, lets say you have an 05 you want to unload...how much more could you get if it were an 06 instead. My guess is about 4k.

If you really want to save money, live with out the CMBS and get the entry level RL and install your own Nav DVD unit like I and other have done...38k...just a thought.

Or live without CMBS and get the regular "Tech" package RL so you have warranty coverage on your navigation system should anything go wrong.

IMHO, either wait until the pricing goes down on the '09's (and it WILL go down), or pick up a private party used/certified/low mileage, etc. '06. Not much difference and you willl save ALOT of $$$$. My RL and NSX were both purchased in this manner.... not sure if I could buy another new car again! Remember guys, this is an RL.. even the new one is not going to sell well. Dealer incentives will be coming out of the woodwork by the end of the year. haha

the reason I want the CMBS is that darn active cruise control. I drive about 30-40 miles each way on I-95 and active cruise would make life so much better, esp with these crazy florida drivers... as well, my insurance company will give me a big discount if the RL has CMBS, instead of insurance going up 700 dollars, it will go up about 400 dollars a year.
