Power steering leak

Hi Everyone, Has anyone had the power steering pump leak fluid. I have an 06' RL and was told i need the Unit replaced. I have read somewhere that it could be on O-ring. I just do not trust the dealership. It is a very minuet leak, nothing to really worry about.

Mine was leaking as well as making some noise. Plastic was wet with fluid near pump. I bought the rebuild kit. Only hang up was a plug with a hex head I could not remove-not an issue. Took about an hour, kit was $60 I think from acura....
Noise was gone, and has been leak free for about 50k miles since

Wasn't this a recall, or was that a brake fluid line?

Is it to late to claim a" recall " repair. Is it void with a resale.. Maybe I should be calling Acura..

Recalls aren't like warranties. Since they are for safety, they pretty much have to be honored regardless of circumstance. I would check two things first though. Call the Acura with your VIN and see if the recall applies to your car and if it has been performed. Second would be to look into the recall and see if it is the same issue you are experiencing.

I thought it was a hose issue. You mentioned replacing the pump, so it may not be the same thing. Is the pump cracked? Is the leak visible? Is it something an automotive grade epoxy could plug?

The pump is not making any noises. The wet spots have been there since they diagnosed the problem in 06/14'..I maybe added 1 ounces of power steering fluid since then.
