Question Possible New Owner

In the market for a new ride, and came across a 06 RL for $15k with 93k miles. Before I purchase, I want to know a few things about it. Please answer ASAP! Thanks!

What is a fair price to pay for this vehicle?

What are the most common problems with this vehicle?

What is something I should look out for while test driving?

Thanks in advance,

Here is a link to the car:

I also found out by carfax that the vehicle has been in a minor collision in 2008. Nothing too much I don't think.

Fair market value is usually KBB private party good condition. In the case of a collision, it may go down a quality level.

'06 are known to have weak A/C components, door handle issues, and the propeller shaft whine. All are well documented here. (Use the "search this forum" bar above the forum threads on the right.)

Do a google search for a used car check out/test drive for common things. I would run the A/C full blast even if you are cold. Look for any warm air. Make sure the keyless handles work. You likely won't be able to hear the prop shaft whine unless it's unusually cold for June.

The number one rule with a used car is don't get emotionally attached. This is a significant investment into a depreciating asset. If ANYTHING says "Run! " in your mind, do it. There are more RLs than this one.

Question

Thanks for the reply. I will keep those things in mind when I go visit the dealer. So how hard and how much is it to do the maintenance and repairs for this vehicle?

Sorry to hear you missed it.

For the completeness of the thread, the maintenance is no harder than a Civic. DIY is cheap; Acura stealerships will take your money with a smile.

To the OP: 007spy was courteous enough to give you an excellent answer, but as a matter of etiquette, you really should search the forum's previous threads for a question like this -- it's been asked and answered many times before.

The fact you posted this suggests to me you're in the market for a car, and it's obvious this isn't the only model in the running. I hope you keep this experience in mind when you post questions to other forums, out of respect for those people's time. Thanks.
