Above 28 MPG

During the summer vacation, strictly highway driving, I was able to get 28.37 MPG (8.29 litres/100km) at about 75 MPH. My 5 months average is 18 MPG though (13 L/100). Winter will be tough...

Do most of you have the trip computer automatically reset "Trip A" after a refuel? I would be interesting to have a contest to see who can get the highest mileage after 200 miles. You could attach a photo of your odometer/average fuel mileage display. I enjoy seeing how high I can get the mileage to go right after a refuel. I can usually get into the 27MPG range if I get on the highway right after I fuel up.

I usually let "Trip B" go all the time and I'm in the mid 21's with mixed driving.

I've got 31.5k miles and am getting 19 mpg in urban driving. I get 25 mpg on pure freeway trips, AC on, 80-85 mph. I'm sure I can get 27-28 mpg with cruising at 75 mph.

Since I have owned my car I have not reset my "B" trip meter...I have averaged 22.4. I drive mainly rural roads with stop signs every 2 miles and average about 20 MPG in this environment. If I drive pure highway at 70 Mph (by myself) I can get 28 mpg. No matter how economy minded I drive, if I want the best economy it is with the cruise control.

Whoa -- I can't believe some people are getting consistent 20's....

I average about 17-18 while driving like a grandma and tires overinflated by 2-5 lbs each.

I also need to mention that I'm using the 18" aspec wheels which I'm sure add a bunch of rotational mass. I remember moving up on my Integra from 14's to 17's and it costed me about 2-3 MPG.

Then again, for those of us with the aspec, we should be getting a bit of speedo error, right?

Last week I went white water rafting on the american river and drove from hayward to past sacramento and back and got around 24 mpg. Normally I get 16, and 17 if I am really lucky and drive like a granny on sunday.

You should get no speedo error with A-Spec wheels so long as your tires are sized correctly--245/45-18. They are the same diameter as 245/50-17. This is classic +1 sizing. Going to 19" wheels you need 245/40-19 for classic +2 sizing and no speedo error.

Came back from Cary, NC to Spartanburg,SC (about 210 miles) at 70 to 75 mph and got 29.7 mpg in my 05 RL. I had the fuel injector fluid poured into the tank at my last service. Thought it would be a waste, but it has bumped up all around mpg by at least 2 mpg.

310 miles today, average mpg: 26.4. Highway and City driving with cruising at 80 and occasional runs up into the 90's for traffic purposes. Considering the heavy footed segments, I think this is killer mileage.
