Please Help, so many little rust look alike dots on my car
hello guys, I have a 05 Pear White RL, today after I washed my car, I realize that there are so many little dots (they look like orange colored rust) on my car, everywhere! I was so shock when I saw it at first, then I find out that if I scrub it very hard with my finger nail, I can actually get it remove, but since they are everywhere on my car, I just wonder if anyone here also having the same problem. Also, any advise how to remove these dots? Could the salt from the street been making my car like this?

Depends on how bad it is. If the clay doens't work go to my article in Autopia that I posted above. Clay did not work for me and I had to step it up a notch on my wifes new white Rav4 V6 Sport. She works near the airport.

Where do you live? Could be a couple of things...
Paint overspray: Your car insurance might pay to have it professionally removed or if you identify the source, file a claim to have them pay. If you work near an industrial area a car cover works great to prevent it from happening again.
Artillery fungus: Do you park near any mulched areas? The Artillery fungus love white cars, them #$&% critters. Do the specks seem more soft and tar-like? Then it probably is this. Clay bar doesn't seem to help... I've had to spend a couple of hours on my VW before scraping each dot off with my finger nail. I presently have some on my wife's X5 that I have no idea how it got there. You can Google, but here's one link:

Best of luck in any case... I know the feeling when something like this happens... very frustrating and helpless.

There is an industrail park near by where i always park my car. I guess those rusty dots are air born or I get it from driving on the highway? In summer time, I have some black dots near the bottom of my car, I belived those are Artillery fungus that u are talking about, cause i saw flies love to stick in my car and sucking on those dots. They are also very hard to remove, but easier then the rusty dots i am having now, which is hard to remove and they are massive, both my front and rear bumpers are full of them, also my trunk.
