Oily window

My 06 RL driver window gets an "oily" streak up the middle everytime the window is rolled up. it's almost like melted crayon and now the passenger window appears to be getting it as well. Any ideas????

do you have any sort of tint or film installed on the window? If yes, sometimes an installers will put a felt pad on the inside of the door to prevent the tint from being scratched. It probably fell off and the glue is now getting on the door.

As well, it could be glue from a notice that someone stuck on your window and it may have gotten on the felt if you rolled your window down.

Roll down the window
Wet a rag with any household cleaner (e.x. 409, Mr Clean)
Wipe the felt/rubber strip on the door
Enjoy clean windows

If that doesn't work you may need to take inside panel off so you get to the window arm that raises and lowers the window. Possible it's got grease on it and it's rubbing against the window.

Inside or outside? Does it get hot where you are?
