Oil pan drain plug thread is stripped.

I did my first oil change myself last May on my 09' and noticed that the drain plug (bolt) was tricky to get back in.
Didn't feel like changing the oil 4,000 miles later so I took it to the Acura dealer for the change.
I specifically told them to be careful putting the bolt back in. Anyway, they stripped the threads in the oil pan
so they offered to put in an oversize bolt with no guarantee it would work. Either try that or get a new pan.
Now I have a small but steady leak that doesn't seem to affect the engine oil level much. Too late to yell at
the dealer to fix it free of charge. Has this happened to anyone else and is there a cheap permanent fix?

You can try a oversize drain plug but your best bet is to replace the pan

You could take the pan off and try to rethread it. I think it's aluminum so it shouldn't be hard. If it doesn't work get a used pan.

You could try to drain the oil and let it drain over night. Clean the area with brake clean the next day. Then install a Fumoto Valve w/ thread sealant on the thread and again let it dry over night.

Yes - I had a stripped thread on an X-1/9.

I used to use a little clear silicone sealant to glue it in each time and that worked a treat.
