Offer on 09 RL with Tech

I am looking at closing a deal on it on Monday. It's got 11k miles on it and has never actually been sold. Been loaner and demo for the local dealership. Current offer is 40,500 and is certified so i get one extra year or 12k miles of warranty. Thoughts on the deal?

I have an 05 RL with 185k miles that I am keeping, so i am familiar with the RL.

I did a comparative analysis of all the one year old RLs sold for the last three years as documented on RL owner "sign-in". I "normalized" the data so that each would represent the car I was trying to buy - a 2009 CMBS with 8100 miles. The result was about $39,600. My dealer's response was that he had the car, and if I wanted a CMBS I was going to have to buy from him. I did get him to come down to 41.7K. Let me know if you would like a copy of the Excel file.

I think that's a reasonable deal.

I guess it sounds like a fair deal...my only reservations is, its a loaner/demo car...

To me, 11k is basically 1yr decpreicated "used" car in my opinion, and will never have that new car feel. and i think common knowledge(ok I admit it too..) is most people drive these cars like they were stolen.....or I should say dont drive them as if they owned them. And to me, at 11k miles, thats a lot of abuse, and wonder how it'll hold up long-term.

About what I saw last summer for CPO '09s, you could probably get another 500-1000 off, but that isn't a bad deal at all.

Thanks for the advise but we ended up going with an new MDX for my wife and i am just going to keep driving my 05 RL. I loved the new tech stuff on the 09 RL compared to the 05 but i couldn't see that much difference in the ride even though my 05 has 185k miles on it. Thanks again!

Finally got to test drive an '09 RL "loaner" at my last service visit. The only thing that really impressed me was the low end torque. Compared to my '06, it was more responsive in the lower gears.
No nav screen, just a blue compass. All in all, a nice ride but I was happy to get back into my car.
