Unhappy Offboard Diagnostic Question

Has anybody successfully setup the phone-data connection with the Acura server for offboard diagnostics using Cingular cell phone service?

I have Cingular, Internet access through GPRS packet data service, and a Motorola V551 but haven't been successful in connecting.

If anyone from Acura is listening......I need HELP!!!

Mine works with my Ericsson T637 but not with my Treo 650 yet. I have Cingular range (old Pacbell service), not the "blue" ATT service now owned by Cingular.

Sorry-I meant to type Cingular ORANGE, not range (it was late!)

Acura Customer Service is 1-888-528-7876. Your Acura dealer may be able to help you as well. The owner's manual is also a good place to look. But, assuming that you have paired the phone and can use the handsfree link features without issues, try selecting Cingular Wireless instead of ATT Wireless in the diagnostics setup. Also, you might want to take the phone to an ATT Wireless or Cingular store and let them check the firmware level and update it if necessary.

My S710a worked flawlessly with handsfree link but would not allow the RL to use the DUN bluetooth profile to connect to Acura's servers. After updating the firmware it worked on the first try.

I'll take the phone back to Cingular and have them check the firmware. Thanks!

The HFL stuff works flawlessly.

To date I've had no luck in finding a solution to my phone-data connection problem.

I've called Cingular, Motorola, Acura Customer Service, HFL Customer Service and my Acura dealer. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to keep bugging Acura.

Verizon has two phones that will work with the HandFreeLink but not the "offboard diagnostics" according to the Acura Owners Link website.
