O2 sensor connector struggle

Good morning folks,

Trying to change out the front sensor. I was pumped for easy access. I just can't figure out how to disconnect the plug. I see the one tab for release but do I have to remove the connector from that metal tab somehow? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Struggled with this as well, for future generations:

There are 2 locks on the connector, you need to push both down to disconnect.

Why did you have to change the sensor? Regular maintenance or issues?

I changed the O2 sensor when my check engine light came on plus I had a Check Emissions message too. Did a scan and a code came up for the front upstream sensor. Checked the usually places like amazon, ebay, rock auto, etc and at the time the best deal was $87 from a vendor on ebay. Thankfully the old sensor came off very easily and all good now.

The car has 142K on it and so far it's been great. Plan to keep it for awhile.

I used the factory NGK replacement as recommended by most folks here.

Good to know for next time though. Thanks!

At 215k on my car I try to do things frugally Bosch is a good brand and o2 sensors aren't rocket science. Some of the cheaper o2 sensors require wire splicing, so look out for that.
