NYIAS RL ASPEC concept
This is the kind of A-spec performance kit Acura has needed to do since the introduction. To be honest, I have been disappointed with the whole A-spec package since it was introduced on the TL (or was it RSX?). The body kits have proven to be less than spectacular and the overall benefits have not been befitting of the price. None of the A-spec models introduced have had an integrated look, which is necessary when Acura is demanding the buyer shell out $5000 or so for the kit.
The A-spec concept shown here on the RL is exactly what Acura needs to start doing with the A-spec idea. The bodykit does not look "tacked on", but rather introduces completely new bumpers and side moldings that flow into the rest of the body of the car. It looks like one piece, as opposed to layered. Take the lip spoiler and rear bumper for example:

The look here is that it was intended to look this way from the beginning, not as though it were an afterthought of some sort. The nice crease along the black "filler" trim between the quad-exhaust pipes is classic and helps reduce the visual height that is oh-so-common with Acura bodykits. The style lines and creases carry through on the rest of the kit as well, instead of the typical "slab" look of Acura kits, as well.
The front end is also very nicely done:

The lower lip is a little bit overdone, but Mercedes has pulled it off with AMG kits on many of their models. The mesh is very nice down below and the prominent grill is really workin' for me
However, it does have a plasticky look to it; but for a lack of a better, more reasonable material to use, the plastic would work just fine.

SO, Acura, give us the A-spec kits we have been waiting ever-so-patiently for; we deserve it. I'd comfortably say that MANY buyers out there would have no problem shelling out $5k for a complete package that looks as smooth and integrated as this. It's the integration of the current kits that are killing you guys, thought the concept is a good one. You have made a step in the right direction, but just finish it off--give us these A-spec concepts you have been toying with since the TL. They'd really work for the better
