No rear wipers?
No rear wipers?
Am I mistaken?
This is a 50K car and there are no rear wipers?
Maybe I missed something? Any reason why Acura
would have left these off?
I couldn't believe how bad visibility in my rear window
was during last week's rain without a wiper.
Perhaps I just missed them and they are there.

I dont think I have never seen a sedan with a rear window wiper and I know no luxury sedans have a rear wiper so it isn't something common and the price of this acr has nothing to do with that. No bentley sedan at 180+ grand has a rear window wiper.
I do agree that sedans should have them though even if they are "ugly"

I think the Mitsu Evo has a rear wiper. But that's the only US market vehicle I know of that has a rear wiper. What's another car out there that has a rear wiper? None come to mind...
You just need to clean that rear window real well. I use Invisible Glass regularly and after so many uses, water simply beads and rolls off the windows.
But the rear wiper thing really has me...you act like it's odd that this $50k midsize luxo car doesn't have one...I don't know of any vehicle out there besides the hard-core boy-racer Evo...

Actually, there are better technologies out there when compared to a rear wiper. I know that Lexus and Toyota use Pearl Drop coating on front passenger windows, where water cannot collect. This works rather nicely, and I suppose this could be applied to rear windows, as well.
There should also be a way to design a diffuser or spoiler of some sort that would direct airflow across and down upon the rear windscreen so that water is forced off under slow speeds.

I've seen very few cars with a rear window wiper. I have owned several SUVs and they all had the rear wiper. The main reason in an SUV is the rear window being more vertical and dirt and grime tend to build up more. Have never noticed a need for this in a car.

My family has been using Rain-X for 15 years on ALL exterior glass and mirrors, and I don't see (pun intended) how people can drive without it!
However, what we just switched to, and what Lexus uses is actually called AquaPel, made by PPG. This is a longer-lasting (but more expensive) coating for your windows. Usually it's sold for around $30 an application by "professionals" but I've bought it on eBay before, for about $5 an application (it lasts about 6-8 months per app.) I had a 24-case delivered to me for about $112 with shipping included. I use it on ALL the outside glass and mirrors, and it really works. I've also used it on the shower doors in our house - keeps the cleaner longer.

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution series is the only production saloon that I've seen with rear wipers. Quite honestly, the saloon body style isn't as prone to problems that SUVs and hatchbacks have.
I wouldn't mind having one, though, if it's discreet and functional. It can't hurt.

Front door water repellency glass
You adopt the front door water repellency glass which shows the effect even at low speed of the 40km/h. It adjusts to the door mirror which administers hydrophilicity processing and guarantees the sight of day of rain in clearing.
Btw the Legend does have automatic wipers in case you didn't know.
Wiper raindrop inspection function
It irradiates the infrared ray from the sensor which is installed in the windshield, checks the raindrop quantity at the reflected quantity. The wiper is operated automatically according to the amount of rainfall.
Oh, Bitium don't shake your head like that.
Yes, this is my first 50K car so you MUST excuse
my ignorance.
Coming from a lowly $20K car I sort of miss those rear
wipers -- especially when I experienced a recent rain storm
and could not see out the back window of the RL.

Bitium....I had rain sensing wipers on my Lexus GX470....didn't like them. The wipers didn't have a mist function like the RL where you just push up once to clear the windshield. Always had to turn them on to do just a mist function and then back off. Irritating. If it was a really fine mist it took a lot for the rain sensing to kick on...maybe they weren't set correctly, but nothing I did on the wiper stalk made a differrence. Dealer said they were in specs. I personally like the control in the RL setup better. Sometimes simple is better..IMO.

So I'm just letting those people know that the Legend does have them.

I don't know of any luxury sedans that have a rear wiper...
