I'm not sure if they're the same, but if they are, do you guys realize the possibilities of comptech tl type-s superchargers being modified for placement on RLs!

That would be sick. I have been doing some early research and I think other things of the TL like the pro-cats might work on our RL's. Those give some impressive #'s also.

Really, after https://acurazine.com/forums/car-talk-5/my-sister-wrecked-my-tl-s-349263/ that happened, my dad just called me today to tell me my car wasn't ready yet and to ask if I wanted to take his RL in the meantime (he's financing his A8L, and doesn't put any miles on it, so he's taking the liberty to do nothing but drive that all the time).. And I was sitting here like, gosh, the RL is so heavy and overly refined for a young fella like myself... and then the lightbulb went on. J35+Comptech... here we come

I think with a intake (perhaps mod the aem cai from the TL), under drive pulley and those pro-cats we'd have some big numbers on these cars.

Haha. Excellent! So how about someone with free long distance calls comptech to see when we'll start seeing parts for the new TL Type-S. Ha, ha ha, and they said they'd never mod RLs. They have no idea what they're getting into

I'll be happy with just an intake that actually adds power, thank you!

Can you say "Comptech IceBox for Honda J35 engine"? I can!

It's just the detuned version of the RL, but essentially is the same engine.

some of the supercharged tl's complain of torque-steer ... that shouldn't be a problem for your sh-awd

Wonder what is the maximum torque that the SH-AWD system can handle.

Isn't that the biggest reason why Infiniti and Lexus don't offer AWD in their V8 models?

let's not forget Audi's Quattro and MB 4-Matic are more than able to support their V8 cars. So I am not sure if that's why Infiniti and Lexus don't offer AWD in their v8's.

my guess is the awd bumps up the price quite a bit, hence the reason no awd on japanese v-8 cars.

You really think so? What's the price difference between a M35x/M35 and GS350 AWD/GS350?

Doesn't BMW also just offer AWD in the V6 version?

Could also be fuel economy, awd does hurt that too. Price diff is like 3k between the m35x and m35

I suspect it is the tranny....torque. I had 7 Audi's. Three had tranny trouble....some with only 225hp (My 1994 S4 2.2L straight 5....awesome car until that happened). Go onto audiworld.com and look in the A8 forum...lots and lots of tranny issues on the 4.2L in the big car in the tiptronic.

I wouldn't mind a 6 speed....but in reality, we just may not need it....what we need is an ECU (call it A-spec ECU) giving us more torque low if possible......and an A-spec catback system.

IMHO of course.
