New RL owner
Just bought an '06 RL, Nighthawk Black w/Ebony.
Had been looking at TL's but strayed into the RL section
of az and decided this is what I really wanted. I learned so much from the various posts and hope to continue. I will need help on detailing as this is my first black car.

Burning Brakes

My car isn't an RL (alas), but it is black, and I used to work as a car detailer.
One thing I've always found useful is the car wax with black dye in it. It's readily available. I know Turtle Wax makes one variety, and I think there are others too. And don't be shy about using it to wax black surfaces that aren't metal (mirrors, mud flaps). Over a long period of ownership, I've never found that practice to be anything but helpful.

Welcome to AZ and to the RL section in particular! It's also great to see another NE Ohioan here, there are a few of us here! Had I kept my RL, we could've gotten together for a photoshoot.

Welcome. Allow me to add to the chorus of approval for your color choice--ahem--though, due to excessively high maintenance with NBP, my next car will be carbon gray.

Ditto what VOdoc says about color and maintenance, though polished metal metallic and if they ever come out with it, the warm gray urban titanium that Honda has would be more along my next choices.

RL color options
I too am in the market for an '05-06 RL...somewhat confused on color and looking for opinions. I think the white is very cool, as is the black. I would prefer the white but can't get the black interior. Carbon & Lakeshore silver & celestial are also on the list. Black on black seems easier to find but hard to find a "clean" one. Any ideas on upkeep and potential to "chip", etc would be helpful also.

I am very happy with the black/black. My first choice was one of the silvers or gray followed by white. But a deal came along on a very clean 06. The black interior is not as dark as I expected and the car looks great when waxed properly.
