New CarPlay/Android Auto Option

For those of you that have had the displeasure of dealing with Navtool, we now have a new option for CarPlay. GROM is releasing a new unit for us! I got an email blast this morning. Below are the links:

Demo: https://gromaudio.com/installs/acura-rdx-2007-2009-vline-for-carplay-android-auto-system-demo.html

To order: https://gromaudio.com/store/vline/honda-acura-2005-2012-vline-carplay-android-auto-infotainment-system-navigation-upgrade.html

Demo is on an RDX but the basic operations would be the same or very similar.

I already preordered my unit. They are shipping out November 15th so hopefully more updates to follow soon!

Yay for an option other than NAVTOOL, what a bunch of tools they are…

Wish the hardware was a bit more powerful. More ram, storage and a more recent android version. Can't wait to see if it works with all the steering wheel and console buttons.

This doesn't matter - these units are using the hardware in your phone.

It's your phone that runs the apps and does the processing - the hardware at the headunit end just needs to display the video, pipe the audio, and return the touch commands.

It runs its own android os, so you can download apps that you won't be able to to via android auto like youtube or netflix.
