Congratulations!!! The blue colour looks great, especially when the sun hits it!! I hope you enjoy your RL as much as I do. Did you upgrade to the Michelin Pilot A/S? If so, report back on the ride quality.

Hey - Sorry, I thought somebody else would have taken them already. If you want, I can take them from the inside - my windows were tinted and I don't think you will be able to see from outside. Let me know if this is ok... hopefully somebody else can take some also.

Yes, without a doubt. They are two very different cars. The TL is by no means a car to look down on, but the RL feels much more solid. It sticks to the road - whereas in the TL I could get it to loose grip..... the RL I won't really push it that hard yet - break in period - but I can already tell it is a solid car. The toys are fun. I like the idrive like knob which controls everything. (Which the solid feeling you would expect when paying possibly $15k more. The materials are all top notch in the car.

I have not had time to play with the voice activated nav yet... I know it is much more advanced than the TL. You can say in the city and street names????

I am very impressed, although I have a rattle and I can't figure out where it is coming from. I will have to have somebody else drive the car while I figure out where it's from and then fix it.

Silly question here I also just bought an RL a couple of weeks ago. What is the "clearbra"? Is it made of plastic and if so, how does it look on the car? Thanks. And by the way, isn't this an awsome car!!

It is basically a sticker which comes off - except huge. It takes the place of a leather bra you put on the front of teh car to protect it. The clear one you can barely see - except for the line between the bra and the paint. If you get tired of it, you can peel it off and there will be no paint damage. People swear by it. You can wax right over it if you please. Check out www.xpel.com It is essentially plastic. It does a good job

I will take pics later this evening.

It is, by far one of the greatest cars!

Wow!! Thanks Vic Wish I would of known about that for my TL as I got some pretty nasty chips in it. Will this prevent pretty much any rock chips?

It will protect it agains virtually all rock chips - not all though. If it is a HUGE rock, it isnt going to stop it - then again, nothing is.

I don't remember where, but somebody had done tests on the 3M clearbra film and they took a BB gun and shot it at the film and it protected the paint. It is impressive stuff - I had it on my FX35 for the short time I owned it before it was bought back under the lemon law.

Sounds great Vic I am going to check with my dealer today to see if it is something they can install for me (if I try doing it myself, it will certainly look like crap If you don't mind me asking, what happened on the FX35? I have test drove some Infiniti's in the past and they seem like pretty good cars.

Most dealers don't do the clearbra themselves - they contract out. Besides, with something like this, it is very difficult to do if you have never done it before (which is why I didn't even bother trying). You can find dealers/installers at http://www.xpel.com/ or 3M here...

The FX35 had a slew of problems. Day 2 took it in to get the XM installed - dealer scratched the bumper and the qtr panel. Sunroof was leaking in the carwash and the rain - I believe I gave them 7 repair attempts (only 4 required by law to qualify as a lemon). Tail lights/brake lights didn't work. Leveling headlights stopped working. Interior lights (radio controls) stopped working. XM would turn off after 60 minutes and you would have to turn the car off and back on to get it to work for the next 60 minutes. I think that's it. It was fun to drive though. I liked it - and is probably the only SUV I liked (I like the sporty ride). I have no problem with my mom's lexus RX - it is simply far too boring to drive for me - especially at my age... kids my age love the sportyness (im not saying anybody here is old )

The sunroof was the biggest problem really. During arbitration through the BBB I was ordered to give a factory trained technician from nissan north america an opportunity to repair the sunroof - in the process, not only did he not fix it, but he scratched the roof of the car... maybe with the hose???

Here are a couple pictures - two with the water from sunroof and one of the bumper.

Hey Vik, congrats on the new car.

I've actually had huge rocks hit one of our cars with the film. The film was torn, but the paint was intact. And, the best part is that it has a lifetime warranty, so it's been replaced for free twice over 4 years.

I will not drive a new car off the lot without a clearbra!

That is great to know that it WILL protect against huge rocks! Makes me feel even better about the investment.

Wow Vic. Probably makes it hard to buy an infiniti from that dealership again. My wife is on her second BMW and although we have had very good luck with the cars, the dealership here stinks, especially the service dept.
Checked with the Acura dealership on the clearbra. You are correct, they don't sell them but I found about 6 locations that do here in San Antonio. Thanks for the web site

Yea, it would be hard to buy from them again - they are the only dealer within probably 2-3 hours of here.
Glad you found some clearbra installers - ask for references - ask about the warranty they offer. Ask if they work with any dealerships - some of the places work with BMW dealers, Porsche, Land Rover, Benz, etc... if they work with these dealers - you are probably in good shape.

You can also call teh high end car dealers and ask them who they use - then you know you have found a decent installer (hopefully)
