Recently my 2005 RL has been beeping twice when I unlock and open the driver's side door. (as I am getting into the car ) It did not do this before. What does it mean, and is there a way to turn it back off?

 

This is a programmable behavior via the MID as you should be able to turn the beeps off. The programming instructions are in the owner's manual. Not sure why they would have come on unless you just changed your battery (e.g. no power....results in reset), or your battery is about to die.

 

Thank you. Actually, the new beeps date back to around the time I had to get my battery re-charged, so that would explain it.
