New 2008 RL Owner -
Hi Guys... Im a new 2008 RL owner...
I have been searching high and low for a 2008 TL and every TL I drove, was in crappy condition... the seats were well used.. the interior stained and you can tell they were driven hard... So I then came across this RL... I took it for a test drive and it spoke to me... it was beautiful inside and out...
It doesn't even look like anyone sat in the passenger or rear seats and the interior was mint... The 55k miles scared me a little.. I usually won't buy a used car over 30k miles.. but this car is mint... It has the tech package and after haggling with the dealership, I got them down to 22,700 out the door.
The only question I really have is.. I know I need new tires soon.. any advice on what to get... ?? Here are some pics..

Jessica,
Good Move.
The TL leather is a split grain coated in plastic. It wears out fast.
The RL Advance and Tech {as well as MDX and ZDX} have full grain leather - same as good clothing.
For tires - suggest orig equip Mich.
or Cont. if you are cash strapped.
See Tire Rack or Discount Tire iff in your area.

as soon as I sat in an RL, compared to the similar year TL's, I could tell the leather was FAR softer, nicer. My RL interior looks virtually brand new... and it is an 06 with 50k miles.
My wife has an 07 MDX... and there is NO WAY that car came with leather similar to the RL. it has the taupe color leather..creme/beige colored... it is so worn and cracked looking it's pathetic.... it's the MDX w/tech... the upper trim levels had perforated leather and I wonder if that was a higher quality leather... anywya... the qualityh of the leather makes a HUGE difference in how it wears...

Just heard from my dealership... I guess the tires on the RL ( pilot MxMM tires were no good.. so they have to be replaced.. they didn't pass their safety inspection... so I asked my salesguy what type of tires they were going to put on the car and he said he wasn't sure but he thinks they will be identical to what was on there now... I will be BS if they put some crappy tires on it... I won't take delivery on it...

Welcome to AZ and congrats on your purchase. The RL is an awesome luxo cruiser with a little sport. You CAN tell the salesman your preferences for tires on the car and I'm pretty sure you can come to some sort of agreement prior to delivery, or you can try the route my wife and I took when we bought our new Pilot four years ago. We took delivery and drove straight to our preferred tire vendor, where we had pre arranged a trade of our brand new tires for tires we actually wanted.
HTH and good luck! +1 to the advice to check the Tires and Wheels section of the board, there is a lot of good info there.

2020 Acura RLX Advance
Congratulations. Looks like a great RL.
The miles are nothing. I am up to 144k on my 06 RL and still drives and looks like new. Just drove it round trip this weekend from DC to NYC for the auto show. Did 29.2 mpg from DC to NYC (left mid am so little traffic) and 27.0 coming back Monday morning (rush hour traffic in Brooklyn).
I have Michelin Primacy MXM4's and really like them (about 25k miles on them). I previously had Michelin Pilot Sport Plus (for 60k miles). The Pilot Sports had a small edge for snow grip but a good 10% penalty for fuel economy compared to the OEM tire and the Primacy's.
Good luck with the RL and enjoy!

Thanks Ed... I brought my RL to a tire shop to check out my rear tires... The dealer only replaced the front tires because he said that the rear were fine... Then I take the car today and find weather cracking and a bulge on the passenger rear sidewall... Im pissed... Im going to have a fight on my hands... Im in Massachusetts and have read the used car warranty... Im hoping I can win this fight... plus I don't like the fact that two tires are new, and two are not... I like to be on a cycle of replacing 4 old with 4 new...
Another issue... I can't get into my navi without a pin... but I found the secret glove compartment and found the manual and little card.. with a 4 number pin.. Im hoping it works.. I will try it in the morning... I also found a little plastic baggy with information on a remote starter but have no remote.... Any way to find out if I actually have a starter...??
The company is called Code Alarm..
Here is the pic... and some other neat pics.. I found the original sticker as well....
Im hoping someone can help with my questions...

IMO the dealer probably will not pay for the bubble tire as that could have happened as you drove it off the lot. It would not hurt to ask, but since the deal is done I think it will be hard to get them to buy you tires. At any rate, you need to replace the old tires immediately. I buy mine through Tire Rack.
Code Alarm is an aftermarket company (not OEM) that sells to the dealers so you could probably google them if you need to contact them to obtain a new remote starter.

Code Alarm is an Audiovox (huge company) product. Shouldn't be a big deal to get you a new remote from them.

I don't think remote start is possible on the RL as I keep hearing that aftermarket products are too difficult to install on the RL. Won't know until you get a remote, I guess.

Thanks guys.. I will call the company tomorrow..just strange that the previous owner kept that in the car if he didn't have it....
Now onto Tires.. I have been dealing with this dealer for 2 weeks about this car... I highly doubt he will replace my tires... so now here comes the question....
Any good places to check for the tire I need... Pilot Michelin MXMM 245/50/17
All the prices I have seen online are close to 300... Any advice?

Stock tires suck I have had Conti Dws and toyo versados on my car both are much quieter and both ride better than stock, I also hear the BS serenity is a good tire but whatever you do get rid of the stockies, if your going to spend the $ you might as well get a quality tire....

One way to check if you have a remote car starter is if there is an antenna installed near the rear view mirror. Code Alarm is an entry level remote starter, should come with one button remote fob. Some installers can build the starter feature into your OEM remote fob, but I don't think you can tell just by opening the case. I'd recommend you contact a reputable local after market installer and they should be able to tell you if there is a remote starter installed.

Missing my
I like the pirelli p Nero zeroes but they are pretty bad for your gas mileage, but great for driving. I also highly recommend having all four four tires replaced at the same time. It's not good for AWD cars to be on two sets of tires with different wear.

Congratulations on the purchase!
As a fellow Red Sox fan and former Masshole
By the way, that white house with the green storm shutters in that picture you posted looks a lot like my old house I grew up in. Not the same but close. Brings back memories.

You have to get the higher model michelins they are way better. And an awd car you should always change all 4 tires at once. Easy way to know if your tires have good grip is to rip it around a few corners and in the rain if you feel the tires slipping then you know there shitty. The remote starter papers could have been from the old owners second car!
