Need some opinions

I bought my 6 speed TL in April, and recently I have been looking at the RL's. The main reason is, I am unhappy with the manual transmission, its very fun but the sheer amount of daily commuting and heavy city driving I do is making it become a chore to drive. I owe 7,500$ on the vehicle still and would need to pay it off which would take me a year probably.

I want to stay in the acura family and i would like an automatic. Seeing as trading a tl for a tl doesnt seem to be worth it for me, the RL is the next logical step. Would you guys recommend i try to pay off my TL as soon as i can and see about trading it in for an 05 - 07 RL, or should i look elsewhere?

I know, im going to get some biased opinions here on an RL board, but i know some of you are honest and unbiased

Well, first of all you should go TEST DRIVE a RL. Perhaps, you should test drive a TL-Type S as well. (They are fair similar prices if you are thinking to get 07 RL compare to 07-08 Type S)
Personally, I love the RL's SH_AWD it makes the car more "stable" on the road compare with my TL.
but the down side for ME are it is too BIG (it is very tough to find a parking spot in chicago with a big car =(
Furthermore, it consume more gas then TL (remember it is heavier + AWD = eat more gas) I only see the gas price will increase in the following years, that's another reason why I picked TL but not RL

Well thats a good point which is why i looked at the TSX for a while but, i dunno if i can go back to a 4 cyl :-/, As long as it gets 20mpg average, its fine. the AWD is a plus because winter can be rough in CT at times. The cars size isnt a problem to me because as far as parking, i dont park on city streets or anything like that, usually a garage if i need to park in the city

Well, Acura does make the TSX V6 version but you should test drive the TSX, TL, and the RL. I really boils down what you like. When I went looking for another vehicle after my lease went up in my Honda Ridgeline, I looked into a TL and an RL. At the end I fell in love with RL because of the SH-AWD and the fact it was quieter than the TL, also because where I live at it has four seasons. I love both cars but I could only take one.

Yeah thats exactly what i was thinking Dandy, the RL was a little bit out of my price range when i started because i had 8k to put down and i was rushing for no reason to get out of my integra. Hindsight is always 100% :-/ i wish i waited an extra month or two and went with an RL. Ill admit i went for the 6speed because i was gonna "race kids" But ive come to realize, thats a waste of time and bullshit

You know i spent so much time wanting to do that then when i got the car i "raced" a couple of times and thats all it took to realize its juvenile, i havent done it since june i would say... its pointless, reckless, and dangerous

I have my moments as well when some idiot in a suped up civic trying to race on a strech of highway. I haven't raced anybody since that incident a couple of months ago. It is juvenile but we all have to learn from the experience.

trading in a car is pretty much always a lose lose.

Sell the car, pay off what you owe and move to the RL family...if that's what you really want.

On the other hand RL is a pricey vehicle and 20mpg might niot be that easy, NYC gives me 12-14.

I have to admit I've burned a few cars in the last few weeks...it's fun if you keep it short

Like the 2009 Maxima where the guy was trying to convince me he's faster in sports mode and he got AWD....

Well see, im not quite sure how I would sell my TL. the TL is actually the first car i bought myself basically, it was 15,900 at the dealer and i dropped 8k, and financed the rest. Im guessing if i sold it out right and paid off the loan, i would probably have 7k cash in hand available. Thats just a guess obviously. RL's run 24 - 27k if im not mistaken for one with 50k+ miles, i guess i would need to save up a bit before doing anything
