Need a larger replacement battery for 2G RL
Need a larger replacement battery for 2G RL
Wondering if any of you who have replaced your standard (small) RL battery with an oversized more powerful one can spec a working model for me.
I see threads (circa 2017) about Bosch AGM batteries working well. However, no one spec'd the Group size. Can anyone confirm a working Group size for a larger battery?
Also, I understand that some modification under the hood may be required. Can anyone tell me or show me what you did? Or provide a link?
I recently moved from CA to WA, and the colder winter just doesn't work for my 1.5 year old OEM battery. I use a trickle charger every night (from another Acura thread) so that I can start the car each day. Otherwise, it loses voltage on cold nights.
Thank you for any tips current to 2025.
Craig

You have a defective battery or a electrical leak
My OEM sized battery works fine in Buffalo NY weather. I had a defective battery from Sam’s club that died every night. Also your hfl (hands free link) module could be draining the battery. Unplug it and see if that fixes the problem. Or have battery tested for voltage under load.
Yeah - I had a bad drain problem.
Part of it was the HFL (~15mA IIRC), but the big one (~30mA) turned out to be the rear boot/trunk button. Water ingress, I presume.
That's now 404 too and the drain problem has gone.
