For the driver's side, you must move the battery. For the passenger side, it's not too hard. If you search "lighting upgrades", I have some photos and description for how to do it. High beams, of course.

I can direct you to a competent mechanic to do it. Fog's took about 30 min to replace with HIDs, 10 minutes for daytime. Low beams...when he took the assembly out looked like a pain in the @$$...

I'm going to get it professionally installed over the weekend. I'll let you know how long it takes and how bad it looks.

$175 is a joke, I bet my guy won't even charge me a $50 for it.

What's the need for the lights to be so difficult to replace? What happened to pop the hood, and turn a rubber/plastic thing, then VOILA!

when I got my driver side HID replaced due to flickering, they had to remove the bumper to do it.
They did it for free (long story documented on another thread), but the original quote was over $400 for bulb and labor. I think the labor was $180.

What happened was the 2G TL, the easiest car to pop HIDs out of EVAR. This led to a theft spree, largely on the East Coast, back in the early 'oughts. This led Acura to design a mechanism that made the HIDs more difficult to remove, first in the 3G TL, then the 2G RL.

A shame, really, for those who want to replace their own HIDs, as the thieves ruined it.

I'd rather pay a mechanic to change my bulbs than pay a dealer to install new head lights.

ok, here's the scoop on low beams. Each light has a cap on it that says "blah blah blah 25,000 volts blah blah danger blah".

Right side, my mechanic couldn't fit his hand in from inside, tried from the wheel side, no good.

Ended up unscrewing the washer fluid plastic tube and moved it to the side, then presto 20 minutes later right side was good.

Left side was a bit trickier as there was nothing to move, he got the old bulb out in 5 minutes.

Getting the new one in posed a problem, he dropped it twice and the first time he barely got it out...

Long story short, 30 minutes!

And all for this one moment:

Fuckin thieves...

037 lookin FIERCE! This matches up much better and I love the slight blue light look, but not overdone. So the bulbs for the headlights are 8k? I remember you said the fogs were 8k, I think.

They harvested them from my 530I, that's one reason I ended up with the RL.
