Hello, my 05 rl have problems with the ac, my mechanic replaced the compressor and everything,that comes with this labor,he also recharged the whole system again, and he run the car for hours before gave it to me,and when i pick it up,it run fine for a few minutes and later it was hot air,my question is what else can be? All the parts where from acura,is it posible that the ac relay is messing with this? Please i need advice.

 

Did he run a pressure test or/and a leak test before giving it back you?

 

yes he did and he said that the compressor was burn out.

 

he said that the only problem was my compressor,but I replace everything just to be sure.

 

From what you are saying, if there is no leak and the pressure is fine and it is a good compressor that was installed. Probably a sticky relay or could be a bad sensor. Many sensors in the car that could effect the AC, but that should throw a fault. Could also be something that worked its way loose that wasn't re-installed properly after changing everything out.

 

what kind of sensors? give me more info.

 

something weird is that the computer dosent show any check engine light or any kind of malfunction in the system.

 

If there is no check engine light, than it is probably not a sensor. I would say take it to someone who knows what they are doing if you don't have great mechanical or troubleshooting skills.

 

something I want to add is that this mechanic is my friend for a long time so I know he wont play with me.

 

well he said that he would check the car again,and see what happens? im worry I really love this car is my baby,i got it new on 05,and this is the first problem I got from it,im really worry.

 

You might be better taking it to Acura to see if they can pull an error code, if your friend cannot find something obviously wrong.

Mate, did your fans run when you start the car? The cooling fans start as soon as you switch the ignition on. If they don't run this you should get at least few minutes of cold and the the AC shuts off, and blows only ht air.

 

Im having the same problem with my a/c had my mechanic to check it out and he said that the compressor was bad I dont wont to buy one if its not bad I need answers bad

 

i own a 06 rl and im having the same problem with my a/c it started about 3 weeks ago my mehanic says its my compressor i dont want to buy a compressor if i dont neeed one what else could it be

 

My mechanic replace the compressor,the drier and the ac deposit,also did a flush in the whole system,and replace the sun radiation sensor,and everything is working like new,the ac is super cold,how much you think i spend?

 

My mechanic told me that sometimes the sun radiation sensor,mess up with the ac,he said that if you put a piece of cardboard between the sensor and the windshield,the ac system would run,but in my case the compressor was burn,and my srs sensor was burn too.just my luck,anyways is perfect now,only bad thing was the bill.

It was the compressor,but my windshield sensor was burn by the sun,and it wasnt working fine,so i replace it too,price for all this $ 1876. But at the end,the ac is very cold,and is all good again,its worth it. Acura for life, TL & RL .
