Mugen kit and color not matching

For those of you that have the Mugen kit and bought it pre-painted in NBP, does the color being off bug you? If I buy the kit unpainted and take it to a shop, will they buy the paint through Acura? How much should I expect to pay, in total, if the kit is around $2,600?

Also, how is the kit installed? Is there any removing of the bumper involved? Drilling holes?

just buy it unpainted and take it to a good paint shop if color matching is your main concern. my front lip itself was 950 shipped with a 3 moth delay and plus its on backorder. paint for a whole kit you should look into the 1000 range depending on the shop. i had Chapparone auto body paint my front lip and mugen spoiler which matched very well and plus i went ahead and did the whole front bumper just to have it blend in better. and yes prepping and installing it will take some time it requires drilling and cutting out a big portion of the bumper.

If you are concerned about color matching, the ideal solution is to purchase it unpainted if possible.

No such thing as Acura paint, most dealers even send their cars off to a body shop nearby for paint body work. Just ensure the shop uses good quality paint which many will not.

Never buy a kit prepainted, the fitment is never perfect and adjustments are required during several trial fitments.

At Lexus meets I just shake my head at those that bought expensive kits and slapped them on a nice car with no adjustments and there are noticeable gaps in the body lines. It looks fine in photos and 10 feet away but laughable up close.
