Moon Roof Issue

Has anyone run into a problem with the moon roof? I don' t open the roof ofter but recently I can not get the Automatic open or close to work. While I can still open and close the roof, when I try to use the control to automataically fully open or clase the roof [by moving the control switch to the second notch] it does not work. When I reach the fully closed position, the roof then keeps moving into the tilt up position rather than staying closed. I then have difficultly getting the roof to stop in the closed position because the roof keeps going until I let go of the switch.

The roof used to work properly but now seems to have a mind of its own.

I would appreciate any feedback from others.]

Sounds like a bad switch

Sounds like the switch has gone bad. I would recommend taking it into Acura. It is still under warranty, right?

i had the same issue about 5 months ago, and the dealer replaced the switch.
The switch has gone bad.

I had the same problem and got it fixed yesterday. Radley Acura had to "reset the memory function." Apparently it was a relatively easy fix.

Mysterious moon roof

I had the same issue just before the updates were done at the dealership. After using the tilt up for the first time, no auto open or close. Same problem. After the first service and software upgrades, no moon roof issues. Apparently, it's a simple fix for them. Nothing else done per the invoice.

Mine was fixed at Radley, but they replaced the switch.
I also have issues wtih the Auto up/down windows, mainly in the rear. If the windows are not lowered for about two weeks, i lose thier memory and must have them reprogramed.

Thanks for the input.....

Has anyone reported the problem to Acura Client Services? I have had my RL for over a year so I don't know if they will fix it under warranty. My local dealer has never been very knowledgable about RL issues. It seems by reading this forum, I know more about the problems than the dealer. If the problem is know at 'Acura Central' I will be able to refer the dealer there to usderstand how to fix the problem.

Does your care have under 50k miles? If so, they will take care of it under warranty.

Most dealers are like that

I believe car & driver had an issue like that on their long term RL. I read the article yesterday on their site. Speaking of which, they seemed ot have got a lemon RL because it has had more problems than I have even read about at this forum. Basically their RL has every known problem and then some. Good thing that isnt an owners car or I think the woner would ahve flipped out by now

I read that Car & Driver issue. I think the problem wasn't just the car, but the poor service at the dealership. They didn't fix the problem the first time, so it just kept getting worse.

My drivers side fog light lense cracked last night.
I'm running Piaa Ion with the same intensity and output as the stock bulb. I thought if the bulb output is different, it might melt or burn the housing, not the lense.
