Monthly RL sales for September
Interesting, because the Solara was called the "Camry Solara" when it first debuted. Part of the Solara's appeal is that it has all the advantages of a Camry (including the price) with a sporty exterior. However, I wonder how well it would sell if the cost were raised over $30K (USD).

You can see the determination of Honda to really make Acura higher up in the luxury market. The RSX/Integra has been so popular yet Honda decided to stop production. It seems to me that Honda is quite serious about making Acura a real luxury brand and it would do it at all cost.
May be when Acura is up to par with Lexus/BMW/MB, then it will launch some new coupes? I don't know but I hope they do. While it's a good thing to go more up market, it must still preserve its sporty image as that's what Acura is about.

January 2007 Sales figures for the RL:
433!! Wow! That base model must to be doing too much, huh?

Hopefully it is just a dip but the trend has been downward for the past couple of months at least. But annualized, that is around than 5200 cars per year. Can the RL survive with those kind of sales figures?

Gs430/450h 183 -37% from Jan 06 (talk about exclusive)
Thanks for the info. If this is what is happening with the vaunted Lexus, then I would guess that the $40K - $55K mid-sized sedan market is going down hill for everyone except BMW and Mercedes. I wonder if my guess is accurate?

I hope they have a signifigant refreshing (exterior) planned for the 08 RL model to keep it from becoming too irrelavent until the next version comes along.....
