Model Year differences
Model Year differences
I was wondering if someone could point me to a post or compile a list of things that changed between the 2005 and 2006 model years. I understand they were mostly the same car, but am considering purchasing a used RL and would like to know if there are differences that may push me one way or the other.
Also, on an unrelated note, has anyone installed the rear lip spoiler such that they could comment on whether new or modified trunk struts were needed (or for that matter even available from Acura)?
Thanks in advance for anyone's help/comments.

The only differences from 2005 to 2006 were:
a) The option of the "tech package" including adaptive cruise control, CMBS, and PAX tires/wheels
b) The engine power was voluntarily recalculated at 290 hp, and torque at 256 ft-lb because of the new SAE hp standard.
c) Powertrain warranty became 6 years/70000 miles in addition to the standard 4 years/50000 miles general warranty
d) Rearview camera became an available option--it is not available for 2005 except through trickery
e) NavTraffic is slightly enhanced

Thanks gents. I believe I'm leaning toward an '05 with A-Spec modifications added. I just sold my 2000 Mercedes CL500 that was a mechanical nightmare... I'm going to miss the look, but since I found myself in a loaner from the dealership half the year it's not that big a loss.
If I successfully pull the trigger, I'll post pictures and become more active.
