"Maritz" Research survey

Got a survey in the mail from a company called Maritz Research. Never heard of them. This survey is absurd. It would be easier for me to fill out an application for a mortgage They got my name from the recent purchase of my RL. That is clear. However, they are asking me all sorts of questions about me personally; income race, education, language I speak, where I live, hobbies (to name a few), and then specific financal questions like;, the deal I got on this car, financial details of my last three cars, etc.

Not sure if this was initiated by Honda or it's simply a third party research company trying to sell aggregated data. Regardless, the whole survey struck me as being way over the top. I chucked it. Anyone else get these things from "Maritz"?

I got one and started to fill it out. After two pages I said forget it. Asking for way too much personal information!

Oh, OK. Still, that survey is NG. 8 pages!

They're gonna just need to figure out how to build a better Acura without me. Sorry Acura

They are a privately held marketing research firm located in St. Louis, MO. They are retained by many Fortune 500 firms to collect data (tons of it) for future marketing strategies by those firms.

One problem: It would take them a 10 page survey to find that out

A couple of months ago, I completed an online and live survey session from Maritz. It had to do with my thoughts on proposed changes to Acura's magazine. The whole thing took about an hour to do. There were several other people online, as I could read some of their comments to the questions shorty after they were asked. They sent me a check for 30 dollars for my time.

Did you tell them it would be nice STYLE if they even mentioned the flagship in the magazine?

I wrote a letter to the publisher and the Acura execs for that embarrasing thing they call Acura STYLE. The response I got was "we need to do better...habba habba habba..". Gee, not mentioning the flagship....that was a tough one for them, remembering all 5 models in the current line up. Nice STYLE.

There was no such offer with this survey. However, they did say I'd be enrolled in a "lottery" to win $10,000. Uh, no thanks, I'm not that lucky.

The only time I got to mention that we would like to see more stories about the RL, was at the last question in which they asked for comments concerning content. The whole survey seemed to be centered on suggested new titles and layouts. Not a whole lot was asked about content!
