Is there a special way to pull out the map light?
I took off the plastic glass piece and im tring to pull out the 168/194 map light bulb and they will not come out!

do i have to take apart the entire top part to pull them out?

 

Definitely take pictures of what you are doing and how to get things out.

But otherwise, can't help you, but would sure like to learn.

 

Probably easiest to just take it all apart.

1. Turn the map light switch OFF.
2. Carefully remove the front map light lens.
3. Remove the two bolts and the roof console.
4. Pull down on the front corners of the roof console to release the two clips.
5. Push the console forward, then swing the rear edge down.
6. Disconnect the 28P connector from the roof console.
7. Install in the reverse order of removal.

IIRC, those bulbs are in there pretty tight. Had the same problem when I swapped mine out.

 

So i took out the bolts , and now im trying to pull down on the front corners on the entire console where the 2 map light switches are and i cant get my fingers in there to pull the entire console down.

its really jammed up there!

im afraid im going to break it lol
