Much better NFL. I have not heard of them developing a MT for the RL; however, it could be in their cards. I tend to think that there is portion of the market which would be interested in a MT - especially with the sh-awd. They did put the paddle shifters in the car because of the lack of MT. - but IMO, the paddle shifters are too slow shifting - there seems to be a lag time between the click and the actual shift in gear.

its like that with all of acura's sport shifting enabled cars. but....don't you think they could just make a certain amount of them...like they did with the CL Type-S Manual Tranny.....or the new RL w/ Technology Package....

I am sure they could if they wanted to - I just don't know if they want to or not. I didn't think the shifting in my TSX was slow. It was faster than the TL and the RL. TSX was smooth and fast - actually made me want to use the SS. With the RL, I thought I would use the paddle shifters a lot - seemed like a fun toy to have, but I used it a few times and now I don't bother.

One last thing.. It looks like the mugen legend max concept comes with a a manual, and a monster v8.

I highly doubt Honda would offer this, but perhaps Mugen will. We can only wish and pray.

If the mugen legend max came out - I am sure there would be demand for the car here with the M/T. I personally don't know how to drive a M/T; however, for that car, I would learn.

It's a shame they don't. Honda makes some of the best manuals out there.

since the TL should be the next acura car with SH-AWD and it already offers a 6 MT version, it might be possible to apply it to the RL. The honda inspire was tested with 6MT and SH-AWD, so we know they can work together.

the only thing I dislike about SH-AWD is that is not couple with a manual transmission. I believe that to take full advantage of what SH-AWD offers it has to be couple with a manual transmission or a more advance transmission other than a typical sequential automatic trans.

If Honda would mate the S2000 or NSX gearbox with the RL.. omg, beast!

If any of you havent tried rowing the gears in an S2000, I highly suggest that you do. It's one of the slickest gearboxes available! *snick* *snick* *smile*

I have an 03 CLS with 6MT and it's true, Honda makes the best shifters. I had a Legend coupe MT before. I've driven the BMW 3 coupes and Infiniti G coupes and their shifters are nowhere as sweet as Hondas.
Bring on the new Acura SH-AWD 6MT coupe...Now!

The closest we will get to a manual in the RL is a "SMG" type transmission like BMW offers. I am pretty sure that will be the next wave of the future since other brands are following in their footsteps already.

That is what I'm hoping, but there hasn't been any info even from japan. no hints vp, like they did about SH-AWD for all acura cars.
