Loose drivers side mirror

I've read here that there a few of you that have had problems with the mirror (door) coming loose. Does anyone know how to tighten it back up? Does the door panel need to come off or does it get tightened from the outside?

Interesting! The driver side mirror on my car was loose when I bought it (used.)
I always assumed the previous owner hit it with something (even though there were no visible scratches or dings.)
Either way, the dealership replaced it at no charge... maybe because they have seen the problem before??

Andrewmr,
See the thread at https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4074

Lot of info there. I just went through the ordeal of trying to tighten them myself.

Good luck.

I got my driver side mirror replaced and noticed when I was closing the passenger door that the passenger mirror was very loose. Going to the dealer to see if they can tighten it.

I test drove an 06 and the driver mirror was vibrating. The whole housing was loose. I guess this defect is kinda common.

I noticed that my driver's side mirror appears to be coming apart at the seam on top. Has anyone seen this? There is a 1/2 mm gap where the plastic meets.. right on top of the mirror.

My driver's side is sort of loose too. It was like that when I bought it new from the dealer..

hey elton, how did you pop off the panel under the mirror? Because I see a little hole/access point, but it's so close to the body of the car that I really don't have a tool that can work for it.

I used an L shaped craftsman pick. Inserted in the hole and pulled the cover off.

This thread was very helpful, I fashioned my tool from a 6 inch piece of a hanger and bent the last 1/4 inch to an L shape, it worked great.
