Looking to purchase 2005 RL

I'm thinking about purchasing a 05 RL with 86K miles for $9500. Seems like a really nice deal. What are some common issues I should look for when I go to test drive it?

I was reading into the transmission issues which may or may not be serious. One guy says you just need to update the software and do a flush. While others have said it's cost them thousands to repair.

I had a 01 TL at one time with tranny problems and I'm not looking to deal with that again. Kind of the reason why I went back to driving a manual (08 accord coupe). My wife can't drive manual so I need to get an auto. I loved the luxury of the TL when we had it. I want that luxury again. Let me know your thoughts. Should I stay away from the RL or is it a great car that I should consider?

Thanks.

05 is the most problematic version, as it was the first model year and had a lot of bugs.

You should consider doing a search. The transmission is not a common issue.

05 is problematic, but once all the bugs are addressed, it's as good as any other year.

Transmission is not an issue, torque converters can be.
