Besides b/u camera and Auxillary hook up. Is there anything else the 05 lacks that the 06 or 07+ have that the 05 doesnt? Ive been wanting a 2006+ but found a real nice price on this 2005.

 

First year bugs that are increasingly unlikely to be addressed by dealer TSBs. With 07, you may actually be able to find cars still under warranty, which includes a lengthened powertrain warranty that was first started with the 06's.

On the cons, each year, starting with 2007, you got more plood instead of real wood. Search on this site for issues that tend manifest with 05 and somewhat less with 06. The other part of the equation is that the majority of RL sales were in 05 and 06. 07 and forward are rare cars.

 

Are you getting any warranty with it and/or is it from a Dealer? I've had a few problems with my 05 but nothing to keep me from recommending it. The AC had problems but has been resolved for quite sometime. Check the vehicle service history and see if AC service/repairs have been performed.

 

I love my 2005 RL. I've had some issues with the locks, but they were covered under the CPO warranty.

2006+ may have PAX (not good, so you're not missing anything), ACC/CMBS (nothing too essential for most people), or the backup camera. You can add an iPod/aux hookup easily (ie not tearing up the dash or removing the head unit). I got mine for $130 and did it myself.
