Lights flickering on 2005 RL

I purchase my RL a month ago and now everytime I turn the headlights on, my driverside headlight flicker then go out. If I turn the lights off and back on it comes on again for a lil while then goes right back out. Do I need a new blub, or should I changed both blubs, My car have 150,000 miles on it,

The HID ballast is toast, I ran into a similar issue recently, replaced the ballast and everything is fine.

Could be bulb or ballast from the many, many threads we have seen here on the exact same topic.

I would start with bulbs first since they likely haven't been replaced in 9 years. Change both if you want the same color.

Why do you need a new ballast again?

Cause my driver side headlight, goes out when I turn the lights on. Then when I turn off the lights and turn them back on, It will work for a min or two then it will go out again

I thought the ballast served as a starter for the bulb. If the bulb comes on and then goes out, wouldn't that be a symptom the bulb is going bad?

That's what im thinking, I will try to replace the blubs first to see if that work's, if not then I will need to replace the ballast. I just want to know should I get a used one or a aftermarket ballast kit. cause the dealer wants 300 bucks just for the ballast.

I don't see $300 on here anywhere. Call them back and ask what part number they plan to use.

iM gonna goto my mechanic an have him swap the blubs to see if the drivers side one is bad, If so I will replace both. If it is the ballast I will by a use off ebay or get an aftermarket HID kit.

Good idea on swapping the bulbs, that will eliminate if it's the bulb or the ballast.

Occasionally it would flicker on the driver side as well until the same flickering bulb turned pink; I replaced both of the bulbs from Amazon - got some Phillips HID bulbs for I think around $100 and it cost me 90$ at the shop to swap them... no issues after that at all... balast wise, this was not the issue in my case.
