Light out in seat heater switch

The bulb which illuminates the seat heater switch keeps going on and off. If it is off, I tap it and it goes on. Have any of you guys replaced this bulb? Tough job?
I am out of warranty.

Does the seat heater stay on when the bulb isn't lit? May be a bigger issue.

If it's the bulb, it looks like an easy fix (once you get the switch out). Part number 35601-SJA-A01 or 35602-SJA-A01 depending on which bulb you need (uses one of the first and two of the second). Each lists for $8.38. You can get the entire switch as well. Part no. 35600-SJA-A01 (right) or 35650-SJA-A01 (left). $55.87 list.

Thanks for the information. The heater stays on, just not the bulb.

What is the ac adjustment switch? Red and blue temp adjuster or the ac button near the input knob?

I had the same problem with both the climate blue/red driver side and seat heater driver side. got them both replaced but the climate one is out again. Seems like a problem for our cars!

My seat heater lights went out twice so far. The dealer replaced them under warrenty. My temp switch for the ac unti went out too. there is no way to change the lights without replacing the whole entire ac/audio face unit. Luckily it went out before my warrenty expired it would have been very expensive.

Mine too, this car has a lot of little annoyances.
Might as well replace both sides while I'm at it.

Add my RL to this list. So the question is....if I buy the parts, is this a "do-it-yourself" type of repair? Any instructions would be appreciated. If not, has anybody paid for this repair? My '05 RL is at 61,000, but despite having an extended warranty, can I assume the lightbulb in the driver's side heated seat button is NOT covered?

Thanks in advance.

I plan on doing it myself. You should consider getting a subscription to Alldata.com. There you can find instructions on replacing the switch. Once you have the switch out you peel back the tape, unscrew the light and screw in the new light.
