Lane Keeping Assist System in 2007 RL

Honda announced the European version of the Legend at the Geneva Auto Show. The Euro Legend will have a Lane Keeping Assist System that is similar to the lane departure warning in the Infiniti M. Will this feature be in the 2007 RL? Will it become part of the tech package?

If its the lane keeping assist I read about on Honda Accord in Europe.. its actually a bit different than the Infinity M system... On the M I believe there's a audible warning that you are departing from a lane. From what I was reading about on the Executive Accord .. the system can actually apply turning to the steering wheel to remain in a lane (no sharp turns). I was thinking this would be a good addon to the tech package with ACC in 07

Until that bastard can drive me passed-out drunk in the back seat, I don't want no more gadgets. Give me a 60's era muscle car which the police have to chase instead of track with a mouse and mac.

It looks like self-driving cars are coming closer to reality. Have you heard about the new Mercedes S-class?

The new S class has a incredible intelligent cruise control that will actually stop the car. So in practice, you can set the cruise to 75mph and if you hit traffic, the car will completely stop by itself.

Little scary but I assume its safe.

Here's an article that summarize what the new S can do:

And I really like its infrared-based night vision system.

Hmm some neat features. I like the more advanced cruise system but dunno if I like that it can actually fully stop (or supposed to) by itself. All this will do is make people even less aware while driving which I do not need while I am out on the road beside them. Still, if used by people who are paying attention and all that jazz then it sounds like a great system.

Doesn't the RL's Collision Mitigation System do something similar?

Hmmm... most people that have the LDW on the M turn it off right away.
Not sure if this is really going to help the RL sell.

The M's system just puts off an annoying beep, the Euro Legend's system actually moves the steering wheel. That might make a difference.

And in my opinion, no new feature will help improve the RL sales. That would require a change in the perception of Acura as a brand, but all that is covered in another thread.

It sure can, but the car also comes with a electronic assist system instead of a hydraulic assist like it does now.
