Key fob

Just wondering if you guys keep your key fob with the rest of your keys. The silver coloring on the button on my key fob are fading off a bit. I called a couple of Acura dealers and they told me there's no way to just replace the buttons, I'd have to buy a new key fob.

Thoughts?

I don't carry any keys so the fob is alone in my pocket and still looks like new. If I take the MDX, I take the fob for it with the one key on it. With two killer schnauzers, we don't lock the house.

My buttons were worn on key fob #1 when I got my 05 in May. I took it apart and spray painted them silver. That soon wore away too. I took the buttons out of #2 and switched them a week or so ago.

I have a house key and 2 supermarket saver cards on my keychain.

My wife drives the RL and she keeps the fob in a pocket in her purse. Since I don't have a purse and don't drive the RL much, I keep mine in the dresser drawer.

I guess my original question was for those who keep their house key(s) with the RL key and if their buttons are wearing off.

I can always keep my keys separate but just thought if there was anything else worth trying.

Spray painting is a good idea, but seems alot of work for three buttons

just wondering - is it that important for the keys to be silver?
What about finger nail polish - you wouldn't have to take it apart

i pmed you that
i have a key fob that is missing the back cover. you can have it for a small price. (check your pm)
you can cannibalize it for the key buttons if you're interested.
they sell for 300+ so im not looking to gouge a fellow rl driver.
