Having same problem with raising front passenger side window. Dealer Saturday said it appeared to be binding some in the channel, which would make the "regulator" take it back down rather than breaking the glass. They said also might be a defective regulator. Both a replacement channel assembly and a replacement regulator are now on order, and they'll call us when they're ready to do the warranty install. I love my dealer!

Does anyone know why my rear windows will go down from the door controls or the driver controls? The front passenger window works fine.

This problem is different from the one noted in the OP. I've had this problem before. The car needs to be "rebooted". This entails a trip to the dealer, where a service person will connect your car to a computer and "safely" reboot the car. You can also disconnect the battery, then reattach it, but that is not ideal or preferred.

you can reset the windows yourself. press and hold the button to put the window the whole way down then hold for 5 seconds after the window is down. let go of the button. press and hold the button to put the window the whole way up then hold for 5 seconds after the window is up. your windows should now be reset and can be controled from the drivers window controls. I had to perform it just tonight to be able to control the passenger windows from my drivers door controls

Had this problem. The dealer just lubed the window seals and no problem since.

Yep, this is good info to keep as a sticky. I had problems with the windows when I had my battery issue last winter. The reset is necessary as part of the antipinch feature. This problem is germane to the RL since its the only honda that has auto up and down for all windows, I maybe mistaken but I had read the procedure elsewhere probably in the manual.

I'm a little confused about this procedure. I just had my battery replaced and now the rear windows won't go down. The procedure indicates to "press and hold the button to put the window the whole way down then hold for 5 seconds after the window is down". If the window won't go down in the first place how can you do this? I tried best I could but windows won't budge. What am I missing?

I had the same problem. What this fix is for is if you have a window that will not roll down with the drivers master window control but it will roll down with the single control at that door. You need to roll that window down and up in this sequence and then the master control will work. If you have a window that won't roll down with any of the switches you have another problem.

Red face Same Exact Problem, Why so many replaced Batteries?

Also saved me a trip to the dealer. Recently had battery replaced on 06 RL after 2 years and 2 months. Makes me wonder why so many batteries need to be replaced. Also needed to replace the battery in my key at about the same time. Wonder if there is a correlation.

I wonder about alot of things.

The window reset also allows the second push and hold of the keyfob unlock button to lower all windows and open sunroof, to start working again. Not that many would have noticed it not working this time of year!

Power Window Problems

I've had my CPO 2006 RL for about 2.5 weeks now, and already had the propeller shaft replaced. While driving today with the kids in the back, one of the rear windows was accidentally rolled down. When I tried to roll it up from the driver's side controls, no dice. Tried the other rear passenger window, also did not work. Tried the front passenger window and driver's window which both did work. Toggled the AUTO switch off/on a few times, tried again, and same thing.

When I got home, I turned the car off then back on, and then the left rear passenger window began to work, but still can't get the right rear passenger. All windows do work however if controlled by the dedicated switch for that window. I have also noticed that the function to roll the windows/moonroof down with the keyless remote does not work either.

Is there a simple solution to this that I am missing, or does this entail other visit to the service dept? Any help is always appreciated.

I love this forum. An hour after my original post and problem is solved. Thanks so much Bob, your advice was spot on.

BTW, any idea what can cause something like that to happen?

It's hard to control the electrons.

Seriously, even some stray EMF can derail flash memory so things need to be reset.

window question

so all of my windows work perfectly except for the rear passenger, for some reason i can only put the window down from the back seat and the 1 touch feature does not work. I get no response from the front controls and wondering if there is any kind of stupid childproof thing that i can figure out, i doubt that is it, but wonder why it would work from the backseat and not the drivers seat.........thanks for any input

There's a way to hold one of those window buttons down to reset everything...I'm sure someone will chime in shortly.

If i hold the button it goes all the way up but if i just press up it goes up and stops then I have to hold down the up button for it to go all the way up.

Did you try the reset procedure above?

If that does not work, dealer time to reset the window, although they would do the same thing first. All you are doing is reseting the limits on the windows since they have an auto down, auto up with auto reverse in case an arm or hand gets in the way...

don't forget to check the sunroof with the keyfob. If it does not open with the windows, you will need to reset it as well.

Locked Windows? Help

I was cleaning my RL this morning and I noticed that I was NOT able to lower or raise the two rear windows from the driver side master windows control. Oddly enough i was able to control the front passenger side window without issue. I was not sure if I may have hit something to lock the controls? Or is this a fuse?
The other interesting note is that i was able to control the rear windows from the rear doors...
Any answers or suggestions is most appreciated.

thank you--

Someone who can remember this, please chyme in as the past 3 attempts I couldn't remember the exact way of doing it.

Rear window control

I'm having an issue with the rear driver side window. From the drivers controls I can't move it but from the rear control on the door, no problem? Anyone else?
