Just bought an 05 RL - needs work

Just bought an 05 RL off craigslist last week. Its got 113k miles, so I'm assuming its got plenty of life left. Mechanically, the car has been amazing, minus the ignition coil that I had to get replaced, but I love driving this car. Unfortunately, there have been a host of electrical problems, some that came with the car.

Here's a list of known issues:
dealer can't reprogram key fobs (previous owner "lost" the driver 2, bought one on ebay to replace) because of an electrical problem that they want to charge me 250 to investigate and then more labor and parts (if needed) to actually fix it
keyless entry light always comes up (according to dealer need to replace the keyless touch doors/door handles on the driver and passenger side)
left headlight flickers occasionally (usually fixed by turning off then back on)
rear window master control on the drivers side doesnt work

Apparently the car was also in a minor accident, that I the previous owner didnt seem to know about. there's some minor cosmetic damage on the grill and hood and the front bumper. Wondering how i can replace those cheaply.

If anyone has any helpful ideas or suggestions that would be great. I've already dropped ~500 on this car and I don't want to spend too much more than i have to.

Does the problematic window work when you use the switch at the door itself? If so, you may just need to run thru the switch reprogram procedure.

Post #6 pretty much describes the procedure:

^This. Do it at the door in question.

The AC lights can be replaced with LEDs on your own. Do a search. Your headlight bulb is about to die. Buy a pair of Phillips D2S off of Amazon so the color matches. Check fuse 7 for handle issues. Plastidip and a paint pen from the dealer will fix your scratches.

Honestly, all of your issues have been experienced before and documented here. Use the "search this forum" tool on the right side of the main forum page to find all your info.

Welcome.

^Yup, word of advice I forgot to add at 6 in the morning It helps to have an assistant to do the reprogramming since you'll need to go to the door in question and the master switch to what I remember. I had my dad sit back and cycle the window while I did the master switch part.

You only need to do the reset at the door. One person can easily do it.

I don't know why I remember having to go between the driver door and the doors in questions, then again, this was tw years ago when I first got the car

Thanks guys!

Update: windows are fixed !
also got a nice 35 carbon tint all the way around

Haven't been able to find a solution to my key programming on the forum that matches my situation (AF antenna/bumper antenna or something like that), so if anyone has a solution or possible fix that would be fantastic.

Keyless: i checked the fuses and they aren't blown.. so at this point im assuming i have to replace the handle since i have no idea how to do post #11 in https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-rl-2005-2012-76/sometimes-works-sometimes-doesnt-878925/

A/C lights: i think i'll just leave it. i dont think its worth taking out the control unit since i can just controll AC through the screen.

I had the same problem with my 2005 RL, needed to get the key #2 programmed. Sierra Acura in Alhambra charged me $150 to trouble shoot the electrical problem and $75 to program the key. They told me that an antenna was unplugged. Not sure if that is what happen or maybe that's what they tell everyone so they change change an extra $150.

Just did the reset on my rear driver side door and it worked flawlessly. I assumed the regulator was broken since I couldn't get the window to go down from my master control. My local dealer wanted to charge me $600 for labor and parts.. Took me about 30 seconds to fix, unbelievable. So happy I found this thread... Thanks a lot guys!
