It's official - I am an idiot!

Paid too much attention to the snow and not enough to pulling out of the garage this morning:

Approx. $1,500.

Be VERY careful with these stock OEM tires on the snow or the damage may be way more than $1,500.

Good news is looks like the damage shouldn't be anymore then $1000 depending on the bodyshop. This is taking into account blending of the paint into the ajacent panel / rear bumper etc...

Funny thing, the same exact thing happened to me too. Except I had it on the door too, but same area. I didn't have to go to a body shop to get it fixed because all of it was just paint transfer from the garage door sill. I just got some meg's scratchX, and used some elbow grease to get rid of the paint transfer, and then followed up with a buffer to polish it all out. Impossible to tell anything happened there now, except for some uneven spots in the clear resulting from the wood grain, but those can be wetsanded out. But you have to look EXTREMELY carefully to see it. Better than paying ~$1000 to get it fixed. I bet that body shop won't tell you it's just paint transfer, because they wanna make money off of you.
before (I already cleaned off most of the paint transfer)

I'm pretty good with polishing the paint but it's dented and some paint is gone, down to the primer. The door is scratched too as I managed to take a chunk off the side of my garage (that I'll fix myself). A big part of the expense is the roof drip molding. The shop says it has to come off to properly blend the clear and it's not reusable. The clips break when removed and the only option is a new one at $226 (I checked). This shop has been working on Acuras for more than 20 years and knows what they're doing (did my bumper when I got rear ended on the NJ Turnpike). They do good work, and good paintwork. My deductible is only $250, and they'll work with me (a little) on that.

Funny thing is that I was going to drop my son at school then head to the dealer this morning to get my brake recall taken care of and an oil change. Went right to the body shop and left the car.

Try Dent Pro...they remove the dent and paint to match. They come to you! Amazing what they can do.
