Issues with Opulent Blue Pearl
Hey guys,
I know there are issues matching paint with pearls. I know the white is pretty hard to match, but what about the Opulent Blue Pearl that comes on the RL, is that an easier pearl to match? I've hear since it's a darker colour it's easier to match or at least harder to notice if it's not exactly the same.
Any ideas or facts on this?
Thanks

I had some touch up on my rear bumper and I cannot tell any color variance. I am sure there is a slight color variation from plastic parts to metal panels as with all colors, especially pearls. But yes, darker colors mask it better than lighter colors, generally speaking. Darker colors with a tone difference may just appear to be the lighting wheras lighter colors being more reflective tend be more obvious with color variance due to the pearl glow.
The trouble with darker colors is that they show superfical swirls or scratches in bright sunlight much more than light to medium colors. Minor water spot etching is more noticable on a dark color than a light color. I love the Opulent Blue Pearl glow in the sunlight, but like a black car, it shows dust moments after finishing a polish and wax.
I think the best colors for plastic panel matching and staying clean looking are Carbon Grey Pearl & Lakeshore Silver. That is my simple observation.
