Intakes for 2007 Acura RL
Hi guys,
I know you guys have heard this question many times before but after extensive research on the forum and the web I came up with two intakes that people say do fit the RL, before I go ahead and buy one of the two I just want to know who has installed one of the two and which one fits better.
1. Takeda Stage-2 PRO DRY S Intake System; Honda Accord 08-11/Acura TL 09-11 V6-3.5L/3.7L (pol) TR-1007P
2. K&N Product Information for 69-1210TS
69 Series Typhoon Kits > Performance Intake Kit
Also if there is anything i should be aware of for either one of the intakes please share.
Thanks you so much for all the replies.

hey.. i wanted to contribute to this question..
i am still new and i cant post pictures directly
i installed the intake i was planning..
did the Test for the oem setup before i installed the intake..
test was WOT time recorded from 60-200kmh and also 100-200kmh..
if with the intake the times are worse than with the OEM than i will return the car to stock.
first impressions are really great.. Starts great, drives great no sign of intake or intake noise..just when you floor it you can hear it and starts to make good noises above 4000rpm and you can hear the VTEC too with this..also does a lot better job of alerting you that you are near the redline and you have to shift.. with OEM you just have to stare at the RPM tach and guess when to shift to get best shifting RPM match(since this auto doesn’t shift the moment you press the shift pads..it takes some time and RPM climb and than it shifts)..and noise is fantastic.. its there just when you floor it and its subtle intake ..not too loud not to quiet.. and not like the intakes that just have the filter element on top of a intake metal pipe.. Facts:
1.OEM intake gets fresh air trough a series of tubing from the front..just before the radiator..and its not just tubing to get fresh air channeled to the filter element its where it pulls air from ..and the tubing isnt just a channel for cold air..
2.Hardest part was fabricating the Sensor housing.. its a stainless steel 89mm tube with welded sensor plate.
3.Intake used was this..
http://www.bmcairfilters.com/air-int...50_d203_5.aspx
see the pictures here.. i will post a video of the sound it makes if someone is interested..but first to retest it and see how it performs..
best thing about it its a stealth mod..no sign of it that its there ..just when you go nuts with the car..hehe..
i had a specific BMC CDA for my S2000 when it was NA ..and got 8hp on the dyno with just replacing the OEM intake
here are the pictures..

So you kept the stock piping in front and used that in place of the stock filter box?

Now i am little bit confused, i was going to get that Cosmo intake (will add some good quality filter in that) and there is no place for that sensor. I cant see that sensor anywhere in my car either

Well the results are in..
its 1 second faster from 60-200kmh with the intake
best time before was 28.7s now its 27.7s
i noticed an odd thing.. when you floor it in 4th the revs go from 2500rpm up and when it gets to 3400rpm it short of falls to 3000rpm and than climb up again.. i made few videos.. you can see it there also i made a sound video from inside the car so people who are interested in doing this can hear what to expect..
i will post links later and someone can post them if he likes
and yes i was in sport mode and in 4th gear manualy..so the car didnt shift on itself so the 400rpm fall..
i didnt notice this with the oem intake since i wasnt looking at the tach..but i felt the rpm fall..now..thats why i looked at the rpm now..

60 mph = 96.5 Km/H. You could probably time the video.

0-60 is useless in this car.. yeah I can measure it ..race logic is professional measure tool..
How do I measure?
Sport and let the car shift at 6100?
Do a manual shift and try not to hit the limiter? Start how? Just stomp it? Or push the gas. While holding the brake than release the brake?
That way the transmission will want to go to 2nd.. so all these ways give different results..

I don't suggest pushing the gas while holding the brake with this car..

I'd do the Takeda. The make big gains on the cars they do. The owner worked for Greddy b4 the went under. When they did, he started his own company. I like the fact that if you don't want flashy polished piping, his systems come in black. There systems return big power numbers too. I base my mods on hp/$. The more hp i can get for the least money is what i value. For example, Their system for the 06-2011 SI made 21hp/23tq for $201.99= 1hp/$10. This is why the j-pipe is such a good part. Its inexpensive but yeilds big gains as well. To give your RL real numbers, the 8th gen Accord with j-series motor saw 14hp/14tq. If you look at the dyno graph, it gives a bigger picture from low to mid-range, this intake get big gains in tq which will help a heavy car like the RL moving quicker and more effortlessly while needed less gas to get to speed if u compare it to if you drive the car the same as you did b4 the intake was on (which is hard because you'll always wanna that mmmmmmBAAAAAAH VTEC does).

Ouch.
I was going to order that CosmoRacing intake.
Made the order and they send me an e-mail that they have to figure out the costs of sending.
Now this is that final e-mail.
We have determined the shipping cost for your order. The shipping & handling fee will be $98.5 US and your total payable is $159 US.
So, about 60$ intake kit would cost me 159$ plus custom fees and vat here in Finland![Tomato](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tomato.gif)
I think that they can keep it.

thanks. My second car is accord CL9 and I thought that the 3.5 AWD add intake and exhaust get the power and comfort. in the accord is not enough comfort.Although it is faster and much, set tanabe medalion+ injein.thought on this principle and make RL .

HOLY S**T that was loud when you put your foot in it. That was explosive acceleration or at least sounded like it. How long did you spin your tires in 1st and 2nd gear in that video?

Not sure but you can see when it was getting grip from that speedo, had to ease that throttle at some point to get that grip back. It was a real "sleeper"
