Installing Wood Grain on Steering Wheel
Hey guys search wasnt giving me any hits so i thought i'd ask, got a 05 RL, and was gonna replace the leather on the steering wheel with wood grain that i got off of ebay. Seems that my options are kinda limited since I would rather not self install since the airbag has to be removed. Went to Acura dealership today and they wanted $190 and will take about 2 hours to install
, i checked out Honda they wanted $150 but wasn't too sure on how to install it
lol. Are there any other options on getting this thing on? Theres only 1 Acura in my city the next is 80 something miles away
, im in Alabama btw.
--thanks in advance for suggestions.

It's not hard at all to do, as long as you disconnect the battery and let the airbag discharge for 3+ minutes you'll be fine. Neuronbob wrote up a great how-to which I followed and I had it done in an hour.
You will have to have an alignment done afterwards, as your steering wheel will be slightly off center.

Not hard to do. Took me about an hour being pretty careful. Didn't need an alignment after as I marked the location of the steering wheel and put the new one on in the same place. Make sure you have all the tools you need up front. You'll also need a steering wheel puller but they are cheap, I think I got one for less than $10. When I pulled mine, I heard a loud "CRACK" and though I broke something but it was just the wheel unseating.
Installation instructions can be found HERE.
Good luck. A great addition.

The Official Neuronbob illustrated steering wheel "DYI"--CLICK (jeez, even neurologists make spelling errors sometimes!)
It's not hard, but I did it myself and I have ten thumbs!

lol, thanks for the suggestions, i didnt have to tools to get it done so i ended up going outta town to have it done at the Honda dealership, they did it all without removing the battery which is kinda scary but its on there, also its a little crooked, you can only really tell the difference while your driving.
