I've been having issues with the input and output sensors. First I replaced the output shaft sensor to get rid of code P0722. Then it was the P0717 and I replaced the Input Shaft Sensor. I think somewhere I might have switched those around.
The parts diagram shows that the sensor closest to the engine is the Output Shaft Sensor (28820-PPW-013) and the farthest is the the Input Shaft Sensor (28810-RER-004)...#17 and #15 shown below.
The manual shows them in the following pictures....note that the pictures states the connector colors for each (BLU is for the Input Shaft Sensor and BLK is for the Output Shaft Sensor. Note the actual sensor has the bolt hole straight up.
Note the actual sensor has the bolt hole to the side.
So, I think in the manual pictures it states that the Input Shaft Sensor takes the blue connector and the Output Shaft Sensor is the black connector is wrong....
The Input Shaft Sensor is the one with the bolt hole to the side and placing it into the hole closest to the engine contradicts what the parts diagram states because the Output Shaft Sensor is the closest to the engine.
So now I'm confused as to which goes where..
The following pictures show how I had them connected and for which I get codes P0717 and P0722.
This is how mine were setup shifting 2-5 gears with a big thump and codes were thrown.
So then I swapped the connectors and now no codes pop up but there is no automatic shifting. I think it only drive on 1st or 2nd gear.
I've also seen 2008 Honda Accords (same transmission) where they show the blue connector plugged closest to the engine.
So can someone please let me know or hopefully take a picture of how your 2006 or 2007 RL is connected.
