I'm pissed and I'm physically hottttt!!!
I have an 2008 RL and my pockets have literally ran dry! A few weeks ago my air stopped working in my car and it started to overheat due to my fans not working. I replaced the fans, fan regulator, and my battery. My AC still didn't work so I took it to a Acura/ Honda shopped and had them do a few test on my car. They told me my compressor was out but the test showed no problem with clutch or coil. I've spent 1300.00 to have compressor replaced and my air is still not working. I'm so over it!!! this is my 3rd Acura and I've spent more money on this than I've ever spent on the 91 legend or 03 TL

You mentioned you went to the dealer to diagnose your A/C problems and they said it was the compressor, turns out it didn't even fix the problem. $1300 is a lot for a repair so make sure they get it right.

Probably the stator.

Check the wiring, you should be getting power and ground to both fans if the a/c is commanded on and working...if you do, the fan motor is bad. You could also jump power and ground to the fan itself and see if it comes on.

In front of the windshield there is a square sensor.cover this sensor with a piece of cardboard.and check if your ac works. I had the same problem like you. Let me know if you found it.

I think he might mean the photo-sensor in the dash right up next to the windshield. I know it's used for the auto headlights. I don't see the connection to the A/C.

If anyone has this problem in the Los Angeles/Glendale area, I know an honest mechanic who can help. He removed the compressor, had it rebuilt for $150 and all in just billed me for 6 hours of labor. The stealership wanted over 1k saying I needed a new compressor which costs around $700. I have cool air again and all in was cheaper than acura wanted for the price of the part!

BTW he talked to the compressor rebuilding guys who said the coil was a poor design and the replacement coil would perform better than the original. I think most of us have known about this problem in the original compressor. For those who don't know, the coil is magnetic and is responsible for engaging the clutch. When it breaks the clutch doesn't get engaged because no power in the coil (likely a broken wire in the coil). to the op, did they check the ac control unit?

I feel your pain man, I never expected to spend the kind of money I am spending on repairs. In the 2.5 years I have been out of warranty I have spent over $7,500 and the costs just keep on climbing. If you're curious I had to replace 5 engine/transmission mounts, radiator, radiator assembly, oxygen sensor (for the third time), breaks, rotors, trunk mechanism, door handle, door handle actuator, center console upholstery, navigation unit, alternator, several interior bulbs, windshield wiper motor, spark-plug wires, tune-up. Granted I would have to replace breaks and rotors anyway and I would have to do the tune-up anyway. Lets not even forget tires and pressure sensors, transmission fluid, power steering fluid. Fog light bulbs, high beam bulbs, low-beam HID bulbs.....

I've heard of these cars having some of your problems -- mounts, door handle, console vinyl, an interior bulb or two. I've had the last two myself (now just shy of 100k). But the radiator, alternator, nav unit, wiper motor...? Either you're the most phenomenally unlucky owner ever, or the previous owner absolutely whipped the piss out of your car.

The A/C condenser fan has 3 wires & I'm getting 12+V to it but it's not working. The radiator fan has 1 wire. Does it only get voltage when the temp. says it should kick on? I'm trying to diagnose as to why my A/C fan doesn't work. Thanks.
