I wish.

You get a prorated amount back if you sell/trade the car prior to the end of the warranty, but otherwise, no, if I understand correctly.

man, i was trying not to hear this .. i'll be closing my deal today and i was planning to buy the warranty!
Thing is, I feel like I'm getting screwed anyways because the car is certified and I already have the 1 year .. so in actuality I'm paying $$$$ for a 4 year plan for 3 years coverage.

congrats on your good luck!

Nah...just marketing. If you buy a new car, they will try to sell you a 7 year 120,000 mile warranty when in reality, it's only 3 years and 70,000 miles beyond the OEM warranty. Same goes for extended warranties on electronics and just about everything else. The bigger numbers make it sound like you're getting more for you money but of course, you're not. As long as you realize it, you're fine. Shouldn't bother you.

Hey all,
I'm casually looking around for a 2005 and AZ has been a great resource!

Was wondering if the AcuraCare extended warranty is transferable..

Also, if the car is more than 4 years old but is 1within the 12 months of the Certified warranty, can one still purchase the AcuraCare warranty?

Lastly, is this AcuraCare warranty I'm reading about basically an extension of the original Bumper to Bumper warranty?

Thanks!

Acura's website indicates that you have to buy the 7/100k warranty at the same time as the car itself if you are going CPO. I just looked it up and that's what they say. To read for yourself, go to Acura's website, click "Certified Pre-Owned", then select "Extended Warranty".

With that said, if you want a different Acuracare policy, I'm sure that you can purchase it after you purchase the car, online.

Lastly, is this AcuraCare warranty I'm reading about basically an extension of the original Bumper to Bumper warranty?
Yes, though the original warranty is called "limited". Here's the appropriate link on Acura's website. http://www.acura.com/content/PreOwned/Warranty.pdf

Thanks, Bob

My last question would be whether the 1/12 CPO "non-powertrain" warranty coverage is as powerful as an Acuracare extension of original "limited" warranty...i.e., are there items covered by the original warranty but not the CPO 1/12, and if so what are they?

Thanks again,
