I'd like to welcome my 06 RL to the forum

Hey everyone, I signed in today on the sticky thread, but wanted to throw up this thread on here real quick with just 2 pictures for the time being.

My first car was a 95 3000GT that i picked up when i was 17. It was a beauty. Here is a picture of it in its' prime.

I got it with about 60k miles on it, and after a lot of personal touches to it, and the nature of it being at college, it unfortunately fell out of shape. In January after accepting my first major job, I did some budgeting and realized I could afford a new car. Since I'm headed to Texas, I wanted a reliable car, with a lighter color interior to battle the sun. My mother has been leasing TL's for years, and purchased an 03 RL off lease that I've loved ever since she had it.

So at 23, i bit the bullet, traded in the 3kgt (I admit i still miss it) and picked up this fully loaded 06 RL

Its gorgeous, and in pristine condition. We fortunately have a great relationship with the owner of the dealership, so I knew i was getting a good car. In fact he refused to sell me a couple of other RL's i was interested in before it, because he didn't know the history on it like he did with this one. Its Desert Mist Metallic with Parchment Interior, 30k miles at purchase, CMBS and runflat tires, and I haven't looked back for a second.

My mom still prefers her older body style because she doesn't like not seeing the her hood when she is driving, but I think for being a 23 year chemical engineer graduating college, I got a luxury car with an aggresive look that rivals some of the best in the business.

Here's a picture of my mother's car and mine together. Beautiful. Honestly what's blown me away so far aside from all of the little details is the CMBS. I drove back to college this weekend and i think i used my pedals a total of two times once i had the cruise control on. If Acura ever invents a way to steer the car as well then they have me for life. So far nothing but fantastic and impressed compliments from everyone who has been in it. Acura is truly underrated. But whats nice is I like the RL for the same reasons I loved my 3000GT.... you don't see them everywhere you go.

Sorry for the essay, I'm just really excited to have this car and be a part of this group. I hope to chat with you all at some point.

Nice taste. And the best year, too!

Congrats and welcome!

Your 3kGT was nice, also, too bad you couldn't keep it as a weekend car. That will come as you progress in your career, however.

They actually have. It is called Lane Keeping Assistance System (LKAS). They just do not sell it in the US, for technical reasons and likely liability reasons. I somehow think all US roads are not limited to a 220m turn radius as they are in Japan. Take a look in the Wikipedia Acura RL, Safety section.

Not at all, this car had 30k miles and was in pristine condition. As I said, it was fully loaded for the 2006 year. Without all of the taxes and registration etc, i paid about 27 for it.
